As we enter the second half of the season we have some big games comming up, I would expect a very large crowd for tonights game v shamrock rovers we should have about 6000 me thinks, our european game should be almost a sell out too, than we have our second qualifing round in the uefa cup barring a disaster and a home game against shels these games should be sold out providing we keep our form.

Kevin I wish that you were right, but I can't see any game selling out unless a couple of thousand sunshiners go to the Ekranas game. Sure half of Cork is away on holidays. Last week I saw nearly as many Cork City shirts in Santa Ponsa as you would see in Cork city centre on match days.

Will be interesting to see if crowds pick up in next few weeks. I get the impression the sell outs don't seem to be there this year dispite being top of the league...

yeah...the bohs game was very disappointing...although nearly every other club would be delighted with the crowd we had against bohs

I reckon tonight will sell-out...sometimes in the past when we have had big crowds we might have not done great and some people did not come back..when we played Bohs we played fantastic with a big crowd and we should get that crowd plus another few me reckons...

1st sell out of the season tonight... ;)

Despite being top of the league and playing brilliant football, this was probably the least eagerly anticipated game against Rovers for years. Is this because they're bottom of the league? As much as you want them to suffer whatever humiliation lies ahead this season, a game against a successful, competing Rovers is the best crowd draw in the league. Its disappointing for City, who clearly believe that success and attractive football would bring the crowds in, but the reality is that the attendances were bigger last year! This is shocking. Is half the city on holidays? Will everyone be back for the run-in? Either way, there will be 30,000 Cork people in Croke Park on Sunday and probably 10,000 from Waaaaaterford, so its not like they're tuned out from sport. Despite the highs of the last few years, what are the hard-core averages who come whether it is UCD or Shelbourne - 2/3000? Besides winning the league while playing like Brazil, what can you do to fill the St. Annes end? John Spillane on thursday, apparently.

That said, I think that was a decent Rovers team out tonight who play good football and a 3-0 win is a damn fine result.

Still by league standards our crowds are probably 50% bigger than next best.

I'd be very interested to see attendance figures for home support only. In that way Citys would be 5450 instead of 5500. Bohs Drogs would be 2500 instead of 2800... Would be huge drop in shels figures then....

There was a lot more than Bohs, and the big pub claimed they had 114 down....
I'd have definitely thought between 90 - 100.

There were at least 100 of them there anyway.

Definitely .... the two sections of the Derrynane were taken up, i'd say it was half full in both sections .... so yeah ... definitely 100.

At Dublin derbys will have 500-1000 away fans & those games will still find it hard to pass 3000.
