Says on fai.ie that;

"The €5.275 million allocated to the 16 eircom League clubs today is in addition to the €2m allocated from 2002 to St Patrick’s Athletic and Dundalk FC which can now be drawn down".

Whats Pats and Dundalk getting €2m for? Assume Dundalk getting it for their pitch but Pats..

Was there something about they couldn't get the funds allocated at the time because they couldn't account for previous grant money that was given ??

Will we get a break down of what is happening to the money ??

I heard on Sky News Ireland that Cork City are to get €850,000. I can't remember what the figures were for any of the other clubs. AFAIK the money is only for capital expenditure, which in Cork's case I suppose means redeveloping the Shed and/or putting a roof on St.Anne's.

A Face, it's so far back I can't remember why we couldn't draw down the €1m in the first place, maybe something to do with not having the 20% needed to top up the grant (it only covers 80% of the cost of any work to be done). Definitely nothing to do with misapproriation of grants, though. We couldn't get at it to misapproprioate it! :D

I think we did get some kind of a bridging loan (about €40k, maybe one of the other Saints on here can confirm that?) off the FAI at one point but they've no issues with us over repayment of that.

For most of last year, it was frozen cos of the row between the FAI and the government over the Genesis report. Since Xmas, both the OPW and the FAI have been happy for the money to be released, and for a chunk of it to be used in making Richmond UEFA licence-compliant, but it was held up by the Sports Capital Programme not releasing it.

Terryland Park has received a €500,000 grant from the Government. The money received is part of the Sports Development Fund and it will go towards further development works in Terryland Park. It is hoped that the new stand on the Old Waterworks side of the ground can finally commence. The Galway FA and the Terryland Park Development Committee are to be thanked for their efforts in securing the funding.

So far the money given out to clubs are:

St.pats and dundalk combined total of 2,000,000
Cork City fc 850,000
Athlone Town fc 650,000
Galway United fc 500,000
Sligo Rovers fc 400,000
Bray Wanderers fc 375,000

Anybody here what the other clubs got if anything at all? Read that only 16 out of the 22 clubs got grants, I suppose Derry would be one of the clubs that got nothing anyway !

UCD are probably one of the six not getting a grant. There's a strong possibility that our ground will be making way for appartments and we may be moving in with the rugby team so there's a good deal of uncertainty surrounding the club.

we cant use it on the team. Since we dont own the RSC, the Council are reluctant to release the money to us to develop the RSC. Instead the Council may spend it somewhere else on the complex. Its up to the Directors of WUFC (all two of them) to come with the plans.

That's not what I mean. Week is up is it not? Shouldn't Waterford Utd. not exist by now?
