From todays Indo:

Chorus Sports Channel Has agreed a 4 year deal with the eircom league and the FAI to show non-exclusive highlights of eircom League and FAI cup games.

The deal which runs until 2009 allows chorus, who have 140,000 subscribers, to show highlights from 50 League games per season and deferred coverage of a further 30 matches per season.

That's good news. Wonder how much they paid. Fair play to them showing a desire to show eL football, I mean they're non-exclusive rights and all. Pity I don't have them though. Are they only available in Cork or something?

Don't they already do this? They show highlights of two games a week as it is.

They serve Munster so show Cork, Cobh, Limerick and Waterford games time to time. Next week should be a great double bill - Cork v Hoops and the Munster derby in Division 1 - Cobh v Limerick.

Are we sad or what. :)

doesnt really make much odds if it's only available in parts of the south. should be available all over.

Of course thsi is what we get instead of having free Setanta like the NTL boys. We have to pay €99 for it.

They show some Dublin games too.
They have often had games from Ricmond Park on.

You'll know all about them when they purchase NTl subject to competition authority approval which i don't see as a problem as no cable competition at the moment anyway.

AFAIK they are owned by Multinational cable Operator.

There have actually been a few more, a cutie Cork girl from what i remember went onto RTE for a while and then to England. There were some great non-sport shows on before !!

I'd be surprised if Chorus have paid anything for the "rights".

I'd say they already been doing this coverage already & this just an FAI PR stunt.
