Pre Pay Mobile Phones

I need to convert contract phone to pre pay.

I will almost never use the phone so can anyone tell me if have to buy minimum credit every 6 or 12 months?

I changed from a contract to pre paid, left the country for a
year and didnt use the phone until I returned and it worked fine.

I think they all require a purchase every 3-6 months. The minimum amount of credit one can buy is as low as €5 though so it would be unlikely you'll be using it so little you won't exceed that in months and even if you don't it won't kill you to buy €5.

Vodafone require you buy credit every 6 months I think. €5 every 6 month won't really break the bank though.
