Harrogate are 12th in League Two. Has been in top form for Middlesbroughs U18s and U23s, will be good to see how he takes to senior football.

They look to have gone back to 4-4-2 today after using 4-3-3 for a bit. Might hopefully see Kavanagh make his senior debut today.

haven't seen him play this season but the two previous seasons i saw, he was playing as a winger, not a striker...

When Coburn was with the U18s he played out on the wing at times or as the 10 supporting Coburn when they had two up front. Has played centrally since coming back from injury.

Won PL2 Player of the Month for January. I know it's been said before, but he's the absolute image of his dad

I haven’t seen two look that much alike since Harry Windsor and his Dad, James Hewitt.

He's absolutely the spit of his da. I'm only surprised he hasn't begun greying at the temples already.

Would be great if he got a loan to the SPL to play a game against Aaron Ramsay. His father being Ramsay's childhood idol. He won't know what he's looking at.

First goal in mens football. Last minute equalizer for Harrowgate. Great to see.

Few interesting irish connections in that game: current irish u21 Lewis Richards is Harrogate’s left back who has that long dribble around 1.05, he’s tracked by Emanuel Osadebe who was in a Noel king 21s squad but never capped. Former Kenny u21 Simon Power is the lad who shoots at the back post 1.17 for Harrogate. Walsall also have Mark Kinsella’s son, Liam, playing for them. I always felt he had a bit about him, very much in the Cullen mould. And the striker who scored the penalty was Conor Wilkinson who was capped fairly regularly from 17s to 21s.

Callum Kavanagh(striker, 18, former Ireland U-17 cap) has signed a new 3-year contract at Middlesbrough. Born in Wales, raised in England, son of Ireland international Graham. Scored for a Boro first team in a pre-season friendly v York City, and two goals in three games so far for the Boro U-21s. (Teeside Live, 26 August).

Mentioned Kavanagh scored yesterday in Dara Costello's thread. I thought there was something odd about it, so I did some digging...

Nice finish but needs to work on the celebration. Actually replaced United loanee and supposedly eligible Charlie McNeill who scored his first goal for Newport yesterday.

four goals for Boro's U21s against Crystal Palace in the Premier League Cup last night, including a penalty. highlights in the link below.
The three goals come from a combined distance of about 10 yards, but the third goal, at 4:19 is good

I make that twelve goals for Boro's second string this season in eleven appearances, and still no sign of a place with their senior team?

The worry with Kavanagh is that he hasn't come anywhere close to replicating his underage form in his senior loans - and he's had two goes at it now. He probably needs a successful loan before getting a proper chance with Middlesbrough, he may get another shot at senior football after Christmas.

Wow, the pitch is emblematic of Bradford City's plight as a club.

Pitch looks shocking alright. Was over in Valley Parade about a year and a half ago and the pitch looked good. Was surprised by the standard on show for League Two and they had a decent crowd at just over 16k. Their average attendance for last season was double of that of the club in second place. Must have a ton of issues off the pitch to be stuck where they are.

Regarding Kavanagh that two goals in four games equals his tally from the half season loan he was on last year. Score one more goal and it equals his tally from the two half season loans he did. So good to see him hit the ground running at Bradford and according to Transfermarkt they play 3-4-2-1 and he's playing as one of the two behind the CF.

Fourth goal for Kavanagh today in win over Salford. Unfortunately looks like Bradford may have too much to do to make the play-offs and I don't know if his form, while encouraging, is good enough for higher league teams to come knocking - so it's likely he'll be spending next season in League Two: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68724036

On the plus side it's the first loan where he's showed any real sign of converting his age grade form into the senior game. A strong finish to the season might interest one or two League 1 teams but otherwise probably no harm for him to go to League 2 again, would probably be better than being an occasional bench option at Middlesbrough.

For Ireland he's a good bit down the pecking order for the Under 21 squad and unfortunately is a few months overage for the next campaign. So, unless his career kicks on or there is an under 21 injury crisis, we might not see him in green again. He may end up being an option for Wales down the line given their lack of emerging talent.

Its not a loan, he signed permanently for Bradford in the January.

I think I read that the FA approached him to declare for England when he was still in the academy at Middlesbrough, and were told no.

Two goals today for high flying Bradford in L2. Hadn’t noticed much of him recently but he’s made 28 appearances and I think 5 goals so far this season. Still only 21 but seems a long way off making a breakthrough to our squad. Had high hopes for him as a prospect.

37 appearances and 9 goals across all competitions. Didn't score in his first 13 games this season so he's on 9 goals in his last 24, so that's reasonably impressive - plus it is looking more likely that he will be playing League One football before his 22nd birthday, so still time for him to deliver on his early promise and play for us in future campaigns. Also of note - Tayo Adaramola got an assist and seems to be finally settling in to first team football

Thanks Sam. Definitely a more positive record there.

Should’ve gone to Spec Savers (transfermarkt)!

Scored a hat trick, was involved in Bradford's fourth goal as well. Yet a 95th minute own goal meant that he ended up on the losing team - Swindon beat them 5-4.

Four Swindon players running up to the Bradford player on the ground to gloat over his own goal wasn't particularly nice - Gavin Kilkenny was subbed off at half time for them.
