Interesting one, Ola Lawal joins Falkirk from Chippenham, brother of Bosun Lawal I believe, who has been posted to the Scottish Lowland League back end of nowhere by Celtic with his lesser favoured brother now in a better situation than him. Arguably. Hopefully temporarily too.

Johnny Kenny loaned to Queens Park…

Would have been as well sticking around Sligo as going to a side who'll be fighting against relegation from Scottish Championship. Celtic is really an awful choice for any young player now.

There's a bit of money in Queen's Park these days; they're currently joint top of the Championship. Mightn't be as bad a move as two years ago, when they were fourth tier

Absolutely. Waste of a move really with Sligo and LOI Premier Division standard well superior to Scottish Championship.

I like this move. I had actually hoped for it when I saw him playing for the Celtic colts again in the lowlands/highlands debacle. Stays in Glasgow, has Owen Coyle who is a solid manager, queens park should be reasonably competitive in the scottish championship given their financial backing. He’s still only 19, not 20 until next June. Let’s see if he can prove himself and bang in 20+ goals and take his game to the next level next summer

Very unlikely he'll score anything like that number of goals. The Scottish Championship isn't like the league of Ireland, it's hard, physical, attritional football played on ploughed up grass pitches and even worse astro ones in bad weather through the cold Scottish winter in bleak provincial towns.

If he gets through the season without having lost all enthusiasm for the game he'll have done well.

Don’t bother applying for that job at the Scottish Tourist Board ! !

He was wanted by another team at the next level back in January who would have given him a chance in the SPL. His old club just beat a team from the next level home and away knocking them out of Europe. At least it's not Scottish fifth tier but it's still a backwards step from where he was before he moved to Scotland.

Stays at his home and plays Scottish championship football, still having access to Celtics facilities. Could have been a lot worse. Beating Motherwell during their preseason while you’re in mid season doesn’t necessarily translate to Sligo Rovers being SPL level….

For what it's worth, a struggling, mid table, Sligo side, who just lost their starting goalkeeper, easily dispatched Motherwell in both legs.

Also, it wasn't suggested they're SPL level, it was suggested they're better than Championship level.

Fellow Irishman Paddy Madden currently the main striker and veteran leader at Edgeley Park, but with The Hatters struggling near the foot of League Two, Daniel may well find himself clocking up some minutes earlier than would be usual for a 19 year old.

Hibs have accepted an offer for Jake Doyle-Hayes from EFL 1 side Forest Green Rovers. The player has asked for time to think about the potential move back to England. He has a contract at Hibs until the summer of 2025 but hasn’t featured for them since he was injured in October 2022. (Daily Record, 28 Dec).
