Lets get a hattrick of wins. I will be glued to aertel, and the web looking out for these games. Is it on anywhere on radio or tv? Eitherway very best of luck to Cork and Longford. I am really pulling behind Cork for this one. They need as much support as possible in a tough tie. I am hoping Longford can pull off a win too. Please god.

I wanna see smiles on Corkies and Longford heads tomorrow!!!

The Cork City game is on at 16.00 (Irish Time)
It has been suggested that Corks 96FM (http://www.96fm.ie) will cover the game.
Radio One and 2FM will have updates during the evening.

I think Longford will win easily, "Tony Bird" won't be playing tonight. Work commitments apparently.

I think Cork can win but only if they play their best. With the way the are playing at the moment I think they will win the tie.

Good Luck to Longford and Cork!

Cheers for the confirmation.
I'll probably just avoid all updates until the final score is in.
Too frustrating otherwise.

our local radio, shannonside (www.shannonside.ie) is covering the game but since their website has been under construction for a couple of years, you can ring them and ask to get put on hold and you could listen to the game that way :)

will dig out the phone number now, give me a minute.....

The very best of luck to City and Town.

Was hoping against hope that Eurosport might have something on the games but they don't seem to even have a highlights programme. They used to be great for covering Inter Toto and UEFA games in earlier stages a few years ago.

For some reason I find www.xscores.com to be quicker for Irish sides in Euroope, they probably get their stuff from the same sources but it always appears a little bit quicker to me.

I'd no idea Corks came kicked off at 4, lucky I came on here or I'd have been looking out for the latest scores at around 8 tonight...

Cork should get a few goals which is all you can ask for away from home, and Longford really should win and win comfortabley at that in the home leg.

Best of luck to the two sides tonight and thanks for all the nice comments given to our club before, during, and after last nights game from fans of other clubs.

I know certain people at our club, well one person in particular, rubs fans of other clubs up the wrong way, so your ability to suspend local hostilities for these European games is much appreciated.

Hopefully, we can retain the league this season, but if not, then hopefully the least we can do is make Derry or Cork's passage through the Champions League next season as easy as possible.

Its just a great two days. That is 3 points divided by 3 and we have 1 point to the coefficient. We lost 1.666 this year so we need teams going through to the next round. What do you get for progressing through a round? I know its 1 for a win. .5 for a draw and 0 for a loss?

Slash/ED
14/07/2005, 8:21 PM
No bonus for going through a round, just whatever you earned in doing so.

I'm confident we can get the .666 back by the end of this round and then have three more chances at bettering it.

What do you get for progressing through a round?

Nothing in the qualifying rounds as I have learned today.

higgins
14/07/2005, 8:23 PM
You get nothing!!

all points are gained by the result of each game, its neither a fair or unfair system as we all play by the same rules. I think its better for points in each game rather then the overall fixture as you have something to gain in every game.

Congratulations to everyone involved this week! Amazing feat, a clean sweep! 6 goals scored, and only 1 conceeded in 3 european games (2 of them AWAY from home too! ;))! And a whole cumulative co-efficient point to add to the pile! I'm smiling so much it hurts!!!!

Rhyl's opponests Atlantas are third in the Lithuanian national league and have lost heavy in all of their previous Uefa Cup ties.

I'm a proud man tonight!! Bit snapping at Longford winning - actually I'm not really which makes me wonder!! :p

GREAT to see ALL the Irish teams do well in Europe and I think it's the best round of European results since I've got online and harassed all y'all!!

Next thing you know people will have to invent another reason to avoid EL games than "I'd never watch that ****e!"
