BohDiddley: why don't you tell the class your theory about how the journalist is a Rovers fan
Bohs, obsessed, paranoid - who said it?
Well Passive, as you may also have seen in your perhaps obsessive lurking on the Bohs MB, I have withdrawn this outrageously unscientific theory. I have done this on the basis that, a bit like Rovers, it doesn't actually matter.
I merely opined, before it became apparent that the writer was a kid, that he was probably a down-on-his-luck Hoop. If I were the kind of half-commited EL supporter he depicts himself as, and if my club had been suffering the miseries and humiliations currently suffered by you lot, I'd probably write that kind of nonsense too. But now it seems he is doing it because he thinks it's cool, which, as I say, is just sad.
PS: why don't you post there any more?

Probably because reading gypoweb lowers your IQ. One word: obsession.
Anyway we have been boycotting that rag after the disgraceful article they wrote on us last year. Surprised ye dont remember and are only suggesting a boycott now :o The unfortunate thing is they have no competition in the evening market.
Coughlan is only 19 so he has a good career ahead of him writing for the herag. Years of half truths, fabrication and lies to come.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. It'll be a long cold day in hell before Rovers don't actually matter to Bohs.
BTW - None of us post on gypoweb anymore, it's much funnier to read the ill-informed, deluded and OBSESSED ranting of gypos without any Rovers fans contextualising the nonsense.

Aidan Coughlan and Gerry McDermott from the Independent are well matched, they both like to take cheap shots at the EL because they perceive it to be a soft target, and it seems to be the fashion to slag the league off in certain sections of the media. As was said earlier, if they can't find anything good to write then they shouldn't write anything at all. Not to worry though, good news is on the horizon! Soon the English Premiership will be back on our tv screens and they will once again be oblivious to the EL (at least until this time next year anyways)!

You only have to look at the interest shown in the 'Rovers donate to charity' story': lead sports story in a paper in Dorset (where the appeal has been launched), not even mentioned in Ireland. Just about sums interest in positive news stories.

Big surprise eh Passive? Those hacks couldn't print a positive story - well, I suppose they're consistent.
Given that the Herald is on its last legs maybe a boycott by even 3 or 4 thousand EL supporters might do damage.

Unsurprisingly besides the email that they got my name wrong telling me that I had to pass the buck elsewhere, I still havent got a responce.

Yeah, but they call us "the Shams" and for that they, their children and their children's children will all burn in hell. ;)
In fairness to them, we have been called much worse than that before.....

Its amazing how everyday the papers insist on giving us the latest rumors from England and transfare news from Holland while desperatly hoping that some Chelsea player will be caught shagging some teenage slut but barely acknowledge all the real news from our own league. They scrounge around looking for non-news to print while ignoring the eL. They say the English Premiership is where all the drama and excitement is. So far this season in the eL srfc have had resignations, point deductions, investigations, examinerships, failed and successfull takeovers, managerial fistfight, beaten the tops teams, lost to the bottom teams, put their whole squad up for sale and are having a player deported. Thats just one club from 22 and we're not even half way through the season yet.

And the rest!
The Herald is the same as any WUM here.
Type some crap to wideup eL fans & some attention.

[QUOTE=mypost]The Sun is the best paper for NL coverage. There are several pages every day about what's going on in the league, have comprehensive previews/match reports and Even Keel's (Dermot Keely) page every Tuesday is great. They were the only Irish paper to send a journalist to Poland to cover Odra-Rovers 2 years ago, and they never slag off the league. :)
The only journalist to travel to that game was from the Star.

There was some guy from the Sun on the eL roundup yesterday on Radio 1 who was out in Lithuania covering the City game.

Neil O' Riordan was the only Irish journalist to go to our game in Poland. He's also the Irish Sun's Sports Editor. Nobody else bothered to go to Poland, probably because they were too busy covering the Special Olympics at the time.
having just read this thread I have to say I hope this guy coughlan's journalistic career is as limited as his knowledge of Irish colloquilisms
How dare he belittle the eL for the benefit of his beloved premiership.
Coughlan, if you are reading this, "Sucking Diesel" is actually a term which means great, fantastic or awesome. When someone says "now you're sucking diesel" it means, "thats it, you are on the pigs back!!!"
