For anyone interested.

Ireland are playing Scotland in the final of the ICC Trophy at Castle Avenue in Clontarf. Ireland won the toss and have elected to field.

Scotland are currently 57-1 (8 overs).

No, i just thought that the final itself deserved a thread of it's own, plus the fact the other thread is about the word cup as well etc....

They now 245 for 5 after 41 overs ireland need to slow them down fast or it will be too big to overcome.

Yup, a nigh on impossible total to overhaul. Still, the main job has been done - qualification for WC 2007 in the West Indies. And the good news is that should we lost today we'll end up based in Jamaica for the Group stages with a slightly easier group.

AFAIK we`re in with West Indies, Pakistan and Zimbabwe if we lose and we`re in with Australia, SA and Holland if we win.

Harder group is probably the one with the WI, atleast we`d have a chance of 3rd place in the group if we were in with the Dutch.

101-2 after 20 overs. Still a long way off.

151-3, 27 and a bit overs. Ed Joyce still there. 3rd wicket stand was impressive. Still over 7 an over required.
