On loan for the season as cover for O'Brien after Dempsey broke his ankle in Cork. With O'Brien retiring at the end of the season, a permanent moev could be in the offing as well if he does well there.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Shay made his debut for UCD away to Kilkenny City on the opening day of the 1993/94 season. Over the next five seasons he missed something like 4 League games chalking up 150 League apperances for UCD. He moved to Cardiff City on a Bosman :( and barely played any First team football for them his appearances confined to the FA of Wales Trophy in which the English based Welsh clubs field mostly reserves. He came home and had a couple of good seasons with St. Patrick's Athletic before moving to Bohs and losing his place to Matt Gregg last season.
