Some friends have been following up the fiasco and a certain travel agent is being most unhelpful.

There are a few different issues involved

In my case I'd really like to speak with the person who booked a day trip with Joe Fay Travel on the day before the game. You got the last empty seat on the plane. I think you are a Shels fan and you spoke with a friend of mine in Norway. Note Joe Fay Travel are an innocent party here but there may have been some skulduggery done by another Travel Agent as the seat should not have been sold/freed up.

Anybody on the 1 night trip who booked with Sadlier Travel or Celtic Horizons had any respones yet? This was the trip due to depart at approx 10.30am whose plane never arrived in Dublin.

Were any of the Sadlier/Celtic Horizons people originally booked on a trip due to depart the day before the game or earlier? If so have you had any luck with them?

Please note I'm not doubting the bona fidas of either Sadlier Travel or Celtic Horizons. I used Sadlier in the past for a rugby day trip and found them to be excellent. I have never dealt with Celtic Horizons. I'm just trying to ascertain how they dealt with their customers in this case.

Note my current understanding is as follows.

1) People on the day trip who ended up in Norway have little chance

2) People on the 1 night trip whose plane never arrived in Dublin do have a case.

3) People originally booked on a trip to depart the day before but who were moved by their travel agent to a trip departing the day of the game close to departure have a very strong case.

BTW folks it costs 9 euro to lodge a claim with the small claims court. This is the only cost you will incur. You cannot be liable for the travel agents costs. Remember your case is with the person who took your money. don't be fobbed off with "we're speaking with Atlantic Airlines"
