Saints swoop for Blues skipper
July 7, 2005
St Patrick’s Athletic have finalised the signing of left back John Frost from Premier Division rivals Waterford United.
Frost, who was the club captain at Waterford, had been linked with a move to the Inchicore club since the opening of the transfer window last week.
The Saints had been without an experienced left back since the departure of Des Byrne to Dublin rivals Bohemians before the start of the season.
The 25-year-old, who had been with Waterford for the past eight years, could make his Pats debut against eircom League champions Shelbourne on Friday night.

Bruton will be in the team for Saturday's game with UCD and then he's free to go after he handed in a transfer request yesterday.
Is yelverton really going back to Cobh???

Besides, why isnt this in the Waterford forum, have ye got any money from any of yere players that have left? It seems stupid just to release them.

Thtas wat i'm wondering myself. Players seem to be leaving but no money seems to be coming in, its kinda pointless.

Well, if noone's willing to pay for them, you still have to let them go as you cannot afford their wages. I think the other clubs realise this and are therefore more unwilling to put up cash. Even just releasing them will "free up/save" thousands and thousands of euro of the course of a season as the money will not be being expended on wages.

Ya but you could still try and get a nominal fee for the Rat and Frost as both are well respected players, what ever about the ones that are going back to the first div.

But thats just it. According to our official website, Reynolds and Frost were both released from their contract, not sold.

This probably won't help your mood, but Frost had an excellent game for us tonight, I know it's only one game but it looks like he'll be a good signing.
Was very solid indeed actually gave us a lot of shape, now would he by chance have 10 brothers of similiar age and playing ability?

He did seem solid, however his defensive partners seemed intent on giving the ball away.
