Rovers have signed Tim McCann, a player who ye released three weeks ago, I just want to know what do ye think of him and what is his best position to be played in.

Cheers! ;)

Good player. Probably better left-back than left winger/midfielder. Won't get many goals for you though. Only scored once for us, but one that won't be forgotten.

4 years and 2 title medals for Tim yet, despite that handy stat, he was never really considered a first-team regular. He got an extended run in the 2002/03 [title-winning] side due to a long-term injury to first choice left-back, Mark Glendinning, after an unspectacular few games at left midfield.

At left back, the general consensus was 'thumbs up'. He has a great engine but his main attribute is his tenacity in the tackle which more than contributed to an impressively low 'Goals Against' column.

Played at both LB and LM this season, the former as cover and the latter as ... well, we had no-one else, really (his crossing is of a low standard, lacking height and penetration).

Sligo would do well to play the lad at left-back where I feel he is a solid, tough little operator.

Best of luck, Tim.

Thanks lads. Cant see him been played in left back though cos we already have a top player there in that position-Kupono Low

Great LB, but only that. If you play him in LM you may as well have thrown what you paid for him in the fire.
