Slavia Prague have criticised UEFA after their appeal against the decision to seed Liverpool in the first preliminary round of the Champions League was rejected.

Slavia lost their seeding in the third qualifying round when the decision was taken to admit European champions Liverpool to the competition by special dispensation.

Slavia general manager Vladimir Leska said: 'The reply sent to us from UEFA management was shocking for us. If UEFA solves an irregular situation about the defending champions it should not harm the other clubs.'

Thunderbolts of lightning, very, very frightening. Slavia Prague has a better chance of winning an egg cup than the Champions League in fairness!! :D

Puts to bed the lie that no team lost out when created a place for Liverpool.

Once again UEFA make it up as they go along...

He does have a point. It would make more sense to let Liverpool in directly and make one single group with 5 teams as a once-off, apart from TNS' bank account no one wins with this situation (and that includes Liverpool themselves, who now have to return early from holiday to play in theory easy games)

Who has more chance of winning a cup does not have any influence on who has more right of participating. Since when can only the ones with a fair chance of winning enter a competition ??
By the way, who actually gave Greece a fair chance one year ago...
