Why is Gerry Carr playing? He is a club legend but he is to slow and gives the ball away to easily.

Gerry is doing ok this season(for the rare time he plays, that is), it's good to know we have a back up central defender if needed. Plus he's experienced!

father time has caught up with Gerry,he's done a good stabilising job but the pace leaves him gasping.Secondly I find he's very weak in the air, mostly because his timing is off.Still useful to have as a backup in less important games.the other side of the line is the way forward

Father time catches up with us all Tom, even I have slowed down in recent years :)
I'm not so sure about Carry though. Anyone that watched his antics after we scored our winner last saturday night couldn't question the big lads love for the bit o red. He's still a huge asset to the club and though I agree with what you say regarding the other side of the line being the way forward I also believe that he has a huge part to play on the pitch as we push for promotion. One thing I really admire about Gerry is that he talks a great game and I don't mean that in a disrespectful manner. Carry has a calming ability and as the season matures his ability in this field will be all the more valuable.

As someone shouted in Terryland as he was taking on a player out wide "Go on Gerry, skin him with your pace"! :D

very true petmuller.Burns is doing the same thing but without the chat.By the way that wasn't a knock at Gerry because he has done a grand job since he came back.I do believe this year we actually have a team that want to play for Rovers and the Manager which is somthing that was not apparent for a fair while
