Thought the standard of free kicks tonight was terrible. It looked as if nothing had been practiced in training whatsoever.

We had George, Liam and Fenn hit all over the bar, The corners were crap, too near the goalie. He barely had a save to make all night

Think this is an area we really need to improve on, get one person dedicated to free kicks. Let George with his height, try and score from one, not take every single one.

agree with the free kicks, we have not had a free kick expert in ages at the club, think fergus o'Donoghue or dave barry was the last & they were nothing special either.

on tonights game it had 0-0 written all over it even before kick off, longford are not a bad side and lots of twams will struggle to break them down, tho they could have had a better lash off winning the game instead of having 10 and 11 behind the ball all the time.

there supporter must have been lonley there tonight!

So frustrating...when we got a free kick, it was such a disappointment, even at the end, no hope of anything more than a flick over the bar. Surely Rico is too smart not to practic something more than lobbing the ball at the goalie?! Tonights free kick show should never be repeated, if they have to practice all night every night. What we had tonight was like schoolboys taking turns to throw the ball out of he ground.
Otherwise, a bright game with lots of good football which will pay off when the forwards find their range.

If we had Myler in our side, we would have had scored 3 or 4 from free kicks alone.
Surely SOMEBODY can in our team can make some use of a deadball situation?
It would be worth getting a free kick specialist in, as we get lot's of frees from mullacker's like Longford and most of the other teams in the league.

Greg used hit a good free-kick back in the old days

its an area we're very poor in lately. Part of the problem IMO is that George wants to take every set piece. He hasn't been great on them lately, so maybe time to give someone else a chance (plus have his height in the box.) Woods (when playing) can hit a decent free kick and a good corner, Danny Murphy's not bad on free kicks either. At least vary the people taking them

True.

George can blow hot and cold, the only way you know though is if he takes a few, so what can you do? Im not too impressed with Danny or Behans free kicks though, very powerful but little accuracy. Billy is ok again I guess but can have a few stinkers. We've never had a good set piece taker (Kelvin prob the best in my time) so its not exactly something new. We've been living this long without one! :o :(
