Based on football results or as a cost cutting measure?

And is he now on a free transfer as a player if this is true?

there is a rumour

if the club see this as a viable move, i would be seriously gutted and will continue to give him abuse and call him a prik, scum and judas even when wearing the jersey

he doesnt deserve to wear our jersey

If Waterford are broke how can they afford to sack him as will presumably have to pay him off eventually? Maybe they found "thug" clause in his contract?

He shouldn't be accepted at ANY club after his behaviour towards Chris Breen. Glad to see scum like him fail but sad to see Waterford in a state. Any chance of the legend McGeough making a return now that your old chairman has gone?

He wasn't sacked they gave him the choice to resign so therfore he wouldn't be due any compensation

that sacking of reynolds is a bit sudden isnt it! but i suppose he had it cumin after the changeover of chairman! at the rsc when we won 3-0 reynolds was booed at the end by the home support! i wouldnt be surprised to see reynolds return to shamrock rovers.

reynolds has a bit of a history in ballybofey! three years ago in ballybofey reynolds got sent off in the relegation playoff for us for kicking the ball away! the reception he got from the town fans and the harps fans was something else! that was the last time he ever kicked a ball for us! he was never the most popular of players with section o when he was with us!

thats what happens when you sack a great manager like jimmy mcgeough!

poor alan reynolds
can this be true
judas to longford town
judas to cork city too

Fair play to Waterford for getting rid of him. If our league is ever to show a sense of professionalism running through it then clubs can't keep a manager in a job after they display incidences of thuggery like Reynolds did last Saturday night. Whatever about Collins and Byrne having fistycuffs, it was well before the game started and happened in relative privacy. For Reynolds as a manager to fake shaking Chris Breens hand and then punch him in the face just after the final whistle in full view of both sets of supporters including Breen's family is dispicable. Feel sorry for Waterford. They've lost their best player and their player/manager and are in financial trouble but fair play to them, at least they saw that what Reynolds did was thuggery and showed him the door.

Dolan is the man to take over at Waterford.

There could be something in that, with his mate to come in and solve their financial worries until Dolan creates bigger ones of his own.

The Dark Sides best buddy could take control of Waterford for some sum of money. eL weekly was givimng strong hint in that direction last night.

Roumers are that Reynolds is going to Shels  I'm not a big fan of his but i would love to see him in the middle of the park for Bray, he's the very type of player that every team needs. At the end of the day he does the most stupid thing but he is a very good footballer.

He is a "player" this league doesnt need, its enough to have Oily Byrne and Shoddy Collins making a meal of everything.....Time to start cleaning up and getting rid of bad rubbish

In other news, Fenlon admitted that he was a long way away from signing Alan Reynolds as a Shels player. He said: “I spoke to him once this week O.K., but he’s not available yet and even after July 1st when the transfer window opens he's liable to pick up a ban for a few games. But the main obstacle would be whether he’s available to go full-time, as he’s got a permanent day job. I spoke to him a couple of years ago about a move to Tolka Park and the same problem arose.”
