I don't know where else to post about the match. Pats don't look like the most stable defence, they struggled quite often and our goal came from a dropped free-kick.
Just thought you might like to know.

We beat Bray 1-0 today I'm told. So we still have a chance of topping the group and getting a home quarter final.

Away to Cork in the quarters on Saturday, apparently. A repeat of last year's final.

Pat's v. Bohs was postponed yesterday, to be replayed on Saturday. The winner was to play UCD on Sunday, so that game'll be moved as well, probably to midweek.

Yeah it will have to be midweek because the Final date for the Under 21's I believe has been set already

Beat Bohs 2-0 last night. Ronan Finn (I think) and Conan Byrne scored.
Our pace up front caused Bohs big problems when we got the ball through without being caught offside. We could have scored three times in the first 20 minutes with a lob hitting the bar and two good runs down the right not getting the finish they deserved after some last ditch defending from Bohs.
The first goal came from a corner on the right. Derek Doyle sent in an outswinger that the Bohs keeper, who had a mixed night, dropped for Ronan Finn (I think) to smash home with a powerful shot. UCD kept up the pressure in the first half and forced six corners in a row at one stage but were unable to get the second goal that their dominance deserved.
Bohs came into the game more in the second half as UCD were unable to keep up the pressure to the first half level. While they had a few chances, there was nothing to really worry Neil Gallagher and the greatest success they had was their left-back's impressive success rate at stealing ground on throw ins down the left. Particularly effective was him throwing the ball without it entering play (having gained about 10 metres from where it went out). The ref made him take it again and he managed to gain another 5 or 10 metres! :D
Before this however, UCD had extended their lead after Conan Byrne survived several half-hearted tackles to make his way into the box and finish past the Bohs keeper. He had two other chances to score in the second half. For the first, a slightly heavy touch when through into the box allowed the Bohs keeper to make a good stop on the ground from his shot. The second chance was from a cross from the right which he tried to volley for what would have been a fantastic goal but unfortunately he couldn't connect.
Bohs had a couple of chances with Gallagher nearly being caught out of position at the edge of his box but a defender was able to clear and a long-range shot from outside the box near the end went narrowly wide with Gallagher struggling.
Bohs can have few complaints really as the better side clearly won although apparently they didn't reach the same heights as their semi-final against Pats.
Team was: Neil Gallagher; Aaron McEniff, Damien Kelly, Seamus Long, Someone I can't remember :o; Derek Doyle, Brian Gannon, Kieran Harte, Ronan Finn; Conor Sammon, Conan Byrne.
Attendance: c150
