It will be good for you to get a taste of real European quality. :p
I'll be at U2 so I'll miss your visit though. :(
Shels are away at the RSC for an easy 3 points.
I'd laugh if they got Glentoran. :D

Ah yeah. We (LTFC and CCFC) could get Linfield or Portadown  Id fcuking hate that. Played them already. Would prefer Wales.
btw Peader, your location says Reading, England. Do you go to many City games or is it just a few a season

I wouldn't be overly disappointed with that draw. TNS is the ideal one though.

Glentoran ? Ehm, no thanks, the Oval is in the sort of quarter where I even felt unsafe at 3.00 pm
My ideal draw would be a former Soviet Republic's team. Never been there while the ex-USSR always fascinated me, so it'd be a real travel and not just a football trip then.
Other than that, TNS or a Faroese/Icelandic/Maltese team would be nice. TNS as being the probably easiest draw, the other three as probably nicest destinations.

You might be very surprised there.
It's a bit mad actually that the best teams in Wales compete for English UEFA places. That's a discussion for another day though.
I'd like City to draw a team with an airport serivced by Ryanair or Easyjet. :D

Where have I heard that before? :o

Well that rules out almost all European capital cities then. ;)
Bohs got nice handy Toto Cup draw this year.

A Pete Mahon managed Bohs stuffed the same team in 2001 that knocked us out last year. And people wonder why that clown Kenny got sacked.
I hope Shels get that Kazakhstan side.

But they were called Levadia Maardu then which made them a weaker side. ;)

Yes, Halmstads were quality alright.
Shame Bohs couldn't live with that quality though. :D

so we play one of the following
Viking FK (NOR)
Esbjerg fB (DEN)
FK Ventspils (LAT)
FHK Liepajas Metalurgs (LAT)
Myllykosken Pallo-47 (FIN)
AC Allianssi (FIN)
FK Atlantas (LIT)
FK Atlantas (LIT)
Keflavík (ISL) FC
ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar (ISL)
Iceland/Finland would be my preference, always wanted to see them.
All possibly tough games, anyone bar Viking of Esbjerg though.

Of course you mean...
FK Ekranas (LIT)
FK Atlantas (LIT)
I was really hoping that we'd be seeded and draw a Welsh team. :(
Poor Student
21/06/2005, 9:02 AM
Eh, you do realise this does mean Cork are officially unseeded?
Rhyl would be my choice. We're going to "take" the sun centre. :D
Basically, Welsh; Northern; Luxemborg teams in that order for me. Some where we can go in quick, drink dry and get outta there cheaply, with progress...
I assume we can't draw the unseeded small club from Ireland? ;)
Shít, forgot they'd be midweek fixtures! Gonna take alot of begging to get off work for these... :(

Hope we don't draw Myllykosken Pallo-47 because they only have seating for 159 away supporters so we'd be left well short on tickets. ;)
They're based in Anjalankoski which is a small "city" not too far east of Helsinki.

How did they decide whether Cork or Longford would be seeded?

How did they decide whether Cork or Longford would be seeded?
Our games in the Intertoto Cup last years aren't taken into account.
Longford have been in the UEFA Cup 3 times in the last 3 years.
We've not been in it.

Speaking of which, is the seeded team defo away first?

Yes. I think we all realise this

:D You assume correctly
How did they decide whether Cork or Longford would be seeded?
Longford are cup winners, the FAI give this higher status than league runners-up, we have exactly the same co-efficient
Speaking of which, is the seeded team defo away first?
No, it's a random draw.
Cork City's possible opponents, all play in summer leagues, courtesy of Eoinh (since he no longer posts here).....
Viking Stavanger are currently in 8th position in the Norwegian League.
Esbjerg fB finished fifth in the danish League
FK Ventspils are currently 3rd in the Latvian League
FHK Liepajas Metalurgs are currently first in the Latvian league (way out in front and with a game less played than their nearest challangers
Myllykosken Pallo-47 are currently 2nd in the Finnish League
AC Allianssi are currently 9th in the Finnish League
FK Ekranas are first in the Lithuanian League (nine points clear)
FK Atlantas are third in the lithuanian League
Keflavík are 4th in the Icelandic league
ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar are last in the Icelandic League
From this, it has to be AC Alliansi or either of the Icelandic teams, we know from last year that our league is on a par with theirs.
No, it's a random draw.
Shít, away leg on the 28th wouldn't be dooable.... Actually the home leg would be tough work wise (launch of a new system!). :(

if i want to get to the away leg, IT HAS TO BE THE SECOND MATCH.

I think for Shels Torshavn, TNS, and Dudelange (Lux) should be the preferred options.

Playing away leg first is usually a big advantage so even if I couldn't make it to the away leg I'd always want it first.
