What a terrible result. Rams were just shocking tonight. It seem as if they couldn't be bothar with this competition. I for one am very disappionted that we are knocked out so early on in the competition and by a non-league side which makes it worse. I just hope to GOD they beat Kilkenny next week or else they are in BIG trouble.

I'm support both of those teams, but I'm a City season ticket holder. Rams are my 2nd team in the LOI. They should be yours too. They are a Cork team after all. Crowd of about 300 at it. Very small for a cup game.

I kinda know a chap who's involved with Wayside and after watching them in the Intermediate cup final I thought that we were up to Div1 standard so the result does'nt really shock me, they are a good team and if Cobh were on top of their game 100% tonite then Wasyside were always gonna win or at least draw. The chap I was talkin to was hopefully of getting a draw and then beating them in the Golden Ball and then getting Bray or Rovers in the next round and give a good account of themselves, well they did'nt need a replay tonite so maybe we should hope to avoid them :ball: .

On the brighter side for Cobh, I'm sure that if you had a choice between a cup run or promotion you would have taken promotion so all is not lost, except a good bit of posible revenue :o , good luck anyway.

I am sorry to say that on the night Wayside deserved to win. Tonight Ramblers were not at the races, we had a couple of chances but overall I felt the team let the management team down. We are now out of the cup but there is still a league to play for. It is not the end of the world and I would still think that the team can compete for promotion. The management team will get things right, every team has a bad spell, some fans may not be able to accept this but believe me it is part of the League of Ireland, just look at Shelbourne.

I hope the players hang their heads in shame, they were terrible, it was without question the WORST performance I have ever seen from a Ramblers side, yes they were that bad.
Wayside on the other hand were one of the best sides we have played this season, they were better than most first division teams I have seen this year, they would be best avoided in the next round.
Here are my ratings:
Fennelly: 5/10 made some good saves near the end, some of his kick outs were brutal.

Hayes 2/10 Thats all I can say.

Meade 3/10 Was terrible in the first half, improved slightly in the 2nd.

Brosnan; 6/10

Kiely; 4/10 his opponent gave him a bit of a run around.

Mulconry; 5/10

Carey 4/10 Probably his worst display in a Ramblers shirt, unlucky with a free near the end.

Cummins 3/10 Allowed his opponent too much time on the ball, some of his passing was atrocious.

Coleman; 4/10

Murphy 5/10 Was doing ok but the injury f***** him, should have gone off when he was first injured.

Reilly; 5/10 Missed a great chance in the first half, should not have been taken off IMO.

Davin O'Neill 6/10 WAs one of Ramblers better players on the night when he came on.

Conor Meade 6/10 another who did better than most.

Mikey O'Shea 6/10

well I thought that Conor Meade started to run at their defence when he had the ball, only himself and Davin were prepared to do that.
I hope the players get the finger out now and knuckle down over the next few weeks, it's the very least that they owe the supporters after witnessing that display.

Try and add constructive comments to the forum discussion. If u just want to slag off everyone and anyone without reason then I think your in the wrong place......Davin & Conor were two of the better players on the night and deserved a chance. Unfortunately it just was not our night and as Eddie has said, its not the end of the world......life goes on and now we need to get behind the team and hope for a shot at promotion.
BTW crowd very dissapointing tonight......when we needed the support it was not there...perfect conditions....and yet all the experts who were not at the match will be the most critical....with all the answers!!!
Drag yerselfs away from SKY Sports and support your local side........While its nice to have an interset ,Man U, Liverpool , Chelsea, Arsenal dont give a toss about U......but your support would be greatly appreciated at grass roots level by the club thru good and bad.

Welcome on board Rebel Boy...Think I was talking to ye one night at a match but Its great to see people from Cork taking the time to travel to Cobh to support Ramblers as well. Some of our own "supporters" could take a few lessons from you I would say..... Well done and hope ye enjoy the season overall....

no bother....If it works out that way we'll all be happy...wonder what odds you would get on that? Wayside 12/1 at the weekend so you'd never know...One of the Wayside blokes had a €100 win on it ...now thats belief...€1300 win
I would say about 60/1 but would be interesting to see. Rams were 25/1 to win 1st Div before season. I got a tenner on them as they dropped to 19/1 and recently were 11/4 but I presume they are about 5/1 at the moment.

A bit of a shock result alright but the gap between the 1st Division and the better MSL and LSL teams isn't that great these days so results like these are more commonplace.

You would still expect the Rams to win but I don't think you can call it a MAJOR shock at all.

It was a poor display all round. Wayside were physical and we were not direct enough. The one chance O'Reilly had was straight through the middle. Wing play against bigger opposition wasn't working. Davin O' Neil showed them up with the direct approach along with Conor Meade. Mul in center gave us more chance in the last 15mins than we had in the whole game. Free kicks were wasted, should have taken a few more pops at goal. There keeper took two touches everytime to bring it under control and we put no pressure on. Our midfield was non-existant, enough said.

You can't blame the players for the loss, Though Steve should have moved Brossy up front with o'reilly at halftime as wayside were under no real pressure at the back.

Roll on Kilkenny and some better games. :o

I am not sure if I was watching the same game as everyone else from some of the comments I see brosie rated as 6 out of 10 and muckie as 5 out of ten.

In my opinion we had only one player who was any way half decent and that was Muckie who gave it everything while others strolled around.

Brosie was way off form some of his passing and his headers were way off the mark and he put players in trouble quiet a few times.

The one thing everyone seemed t be going on about on the night was the formation.I dont belive what formation we would have played it would have made a difference unfortunatly Ramblers thought they had nothing to do but turn up and the attititude was crap.

All credit to wayside they did what we have done to other teams this season worked hard defended from the front to the back the amount of running the forwards did was outstanding keeping the back 4 under pressure all the time.

maybe the supporters should accept responsibility for some of the team performances.... I'd say we're the quietest supporters in the league and ironically we seem to be more vocal at away games... put it this way St. Colemans Park never provides the legendary 12th man.... to be fair there are a few who try to rally the crowd but it never gains momentum. Time for the committee to get to work now ...get kids and youth involved... try to create a family/party atmosphere... where's the mascot... Ramasaurus.
A teams performance is a reflection of the clubs performance over a season.
Come on you rams!!!!!

Maybe getting big flags, drums etc done might be worth a try, no idea how much they cost but maybe a whip round could be started.

fair play to them on one note but a poor display by rams, ive been told.
but as one poster said (eddie i think it was) rams still have a great chance of winning the 1st division.
so i think the fans that are slagging the team off should really take a look back at last season,
i think we didn`t win a game till near december last season, and even doe we were only ever beaten by the odd goal no1 could question that every player was playing with their heart on their sleeve, espesially john meade, jammer, brosie, reilly, and john andrews.
so really the fans should look at that fact that the team is in such a strong possition as aposed to the psition they were last year as a positive rather than one cup defeat to a "non league" side as a negitive..!

also if u look at the team this season compared to last season its a much better squad, more players, better players and players that are pushing dublin city all the way this season, surely thats gotta please even the most demanding rams fan.
i think the legendary 12th man shouldn`t have to be applied by the board,i think the town of cobh should also do its part, advertising and stuff,u see cork city f.c everywhere when u walk around town.gearsys, shorts, training tops,do any shops in cobh sell the teams kit? cause i know no matter what sports store u go to in cork u can see the city green white and red everywhere,
so i think rather than bug a board about family days and that(dont get me wrong its a great idea!) but they wont take a chance of spending money if they wont see a return,
so as a person living in cork who goes to the match`s when im not working late, the town of cobh get behind your team, cause there gonna need good support next season while playing the likes of boh`s and cork city
so come on u rams lets b aven u!
slan!
