This is lichtenstein vs andorra stuff, it's that bad. In the past there was a tendency to look down our nose at those kinds of teams - us and Bulgaria are in that bracket now.
People may say it overlooks the players missing for both sides but who can honestly say mcclean, hendrick, mccarthy and others would do any better.

Collins leads the line well. Our pressing is more evident which is a good thing.

Manning is not and never will be a left back.

Duffy and Knight have played two worse balls in the first 25mins than Jack Byrne did in injury time against Wales. Knight really looks out of his depth so far. Hope he can settle.

Brady has been anonymous so far. He is so inconsistent. Good against Wales and now he is hiding vs Bulgaria.

Ryan Manning might be up on a murder charge for that tackle.
The worst tackle you've ever seen I bet

Brady not really the same player since his injuries

The cynical fouling is ruining the game, for us anyway.

Overall I'd say too many players are nervous as f..

Not been easy on the eye this so far.

Me. They're better players. If they weren't, Knight and the rest would have been ****-hot property last summer.

Decent play from Horgan there. Credit where it's due.

Curtis is impressing me.

Period of play here of knocking it about nicely at the back. It's been back to Randolph a couple of times. But it's never looked like going anywhere.

Me too. And I saw a weakened UCD lose a friendly to Portsmouth by a double digit score once.

Really tough to judge Stephen Kenny when he basically has three senior players in the starting line-up tonight: Randolph, Duffy, and Brady. You could make an argument for Dara O'Shea but the rest of these guys are no-hopers.

Ard you one of those blokes who takes a day off to watch the transfer deadline day stuff on sky sports?

It's agony to watch. Two teams barely able to string two passes together.

We are utterly lacking confidence or a clear plan.

The only slight defense I'll make for the poor standard is it's blowing an absolute gale, the performance out in Gibraltar was effected by a similar wind. I think that one was a marginally worse game too!

It somehow feels even worse when it's in an empty ground. It's like a night-time park kickabout. No pace, no creativity, no ability to make a non-leg-breaking tackle.

I think swap Brady for Christie and go to a 3-4-3. Let Manning and Christie us their pace up the wings.

2 awful teams out there. Lots of players missing obviously. We still have 5 players playing at premier league clubs. That's not saying much but compare it to the opposition! Kenny just needs any sort of win, or a goal even. Just something to get things going because it's really looking like he's out of his depth here.

It's in plain English. I don't know what you want it translated into.

And no.

I think Manninng has been very good, he is a flair player should play in midifield , he is an impressive player, not as a full back

BonnieShels
18/11/2020, 7:42 PM
I'm happy enough with that 0-0 given my misplaced confidence earlier.

Or in spite of it. Or because I'm delirious at this stage as to just how this game has gone.

the game is calling for Cullen for Knight I think

Usually, I'd take that to be short for deliriously happy. In this case, I think it may just mean delirious. Like how someone might be after 8 months of social isolation and ****e football.

Hourihane and Brady should be bossing this if they had anything about them. Theres acres of space in the midfield for good players to get on the ball and make something happen but they are going missing.... as usual

Whats that americanism I'm looking for? "Nothing Burger"?

Talking of America, years ago I was stuck on a Greyhound bus going from Memphis to Dallas. A guy got on at Little Rock, sat in front of me and loudly, pungently and unsubtly farted on and off for the next seven hours whilst singing "My fart is low" (his own parody of a Mary Black song). Watching the game tonight rivals that experience in terms of unpleasantness.
