I read on the Eire Guide Facebook page that he has 14 goals in their underage set up this season. That can't be right surely?

I can only find six on the Charlton website:
One v Millwall: https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f609e5dbb1f7/u18s-report-millwall-1-charlton-2
Two v QPR: https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f68a65aa5f56/u18s-report-charlton-3-queens-park-rangers-1
One V Ipswich: https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f7c88c7b0c30/u18s-report-charlton-4-ipswich-town-1
Two V Winslow: https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5fa31bb789486/fa-youth-cup-report-winslow-united-0-charlton-5
Might be including their preseason games - he scored a hat trick against Arsenal according to this:

“Dylan is very much a centre-forward, in terms of playing down the middle. That’s one of the reasons we were keen to recruit a centre-forward, who could link play and be able to impose himself and his height and strength, and get into spaces down the side of defenders. He scored one of those headers against Arsenal, and in that game he scored a hat-trick. The header sticks out because he rises really well, even from a standing jump, and puts plenty of power into it. He did the same against QPR to put us in front in the second half. He’s got some consistency into his performances, and he’s looking fit for the new season.”
This is the goal against QPR

The fact that he's getting a call up to 1st team so soon is very promising.

Not correct.
Lee Bowyer rested his first team, and played Under 23s and one under 18, which was Gavin, came on midway thru second half and did OK.

What part of him playing in a 1st team match was incorrect? He played didnt he, even if it was a weakened team

Scored in FA Youth Cup last night and seemed fairly heavily involved going by this match report:

Gavin has been on loan at Dulwich Hamlet for three weeks

Oddly enough, he played against DH in January, while on loan at Welling United

He was released by Charlton last year. Joined Athlone Town last summer, and started this season with them, but obviously has left there too, whatever has happened. Been a bit-part player there this season, only started one game and was hooked at half time in it, against UCD.

Best of luck to him, but if he's not even getting much of a look in at Athlone by 21, then I don't see too many full-time teams taking an interest.

Do many clubs look to random Twitter posts for new signings? It seems a bit of a strange thing to post.

He didn't look the part back at Athlone anyway, completely out of shape and bad attitude by all accounts.

I doubt it. Last throw of the dice before the trip to the FÁS office I'd say.

It seems this young player is too impatient to lose himself. Quite a pity
