So Liverpool should have to defend there title becuase they are the reiging champions,is that what you Liverpool fans are saying.

Well why didn't they have to defend their title as reiging champions in the UEFA cup in the 2001/2 season. They got away with that one.Bottom line is the rules have to be obeyed, like them or not.

PS if there is 1 team i do want to do well in Premiersh*t,it's Everton,C'mon you blues

No surprise that G14 want Liverpool in CL next season as its in their own interests to set the precedent.

Ah, but the precedent has already been set Pete!

In 2001 (I think) Real madrid won the CL but finished 5th in La Liga and therefore didnt qualify for the next years CL as per normal. Instead, the Spanish FA awarded their 4th (and final) CL place to Real Madrid instead of Real Zaragosa who had finished above them in 4th.

So the real question is, should the English league be alowed have 5 teams enter the CL or not & why.

When the CL started, everyone new the rules. If you win it you get alot of money and NO automatic qualification from being the winners. But you can qaulifiy for next seasons CL through your domestic league. Liverpool won it and got the money but did not perform in the Preiersh!t, so they did not get into the CL next season. Whats the problem, and am i loving it seeing all you plastic Liverpool fans sh!tting yourselves.

You then go on to say

Liverpool will be in next season's CL, barring a travesty, on moral, ethical, and sporting grounds.

Is it not unethical that they maybe taking the place of a team who has rightly earned their place.

1. What are you doing on an eL forum? Isn't there a barstool somewhere with your name on it?

It's EVERYBODY else fault except the team that DID NOT QUAILFY?

I didn't start the thread, which questions Liverpool's involvement in next year's CL, did I???

It's UEFA's fault, that no rule exists for the winner of the CL, to automatically defend the title. Now they'll have to make one, and correct their oversight. If they don't allow us in, next year's CL will be a joke, a sham, and devalued before a ball is kicked.

1. IT IS NOT UEFA's fault.
2. The CL became a joke, a sham and devalued when they let clubs WHO ARE NOT CHAMPIONS into the competition. It won't become that way because some deluded Liverpudlians like yourself think they know the difference between what is wrong and what is right...which they quite clearly do not.

I agree with everything you say there Patsch but you seem to assume My Post is a scouser through and through, correct me if im wrong My Post but you seem to be deluding yourself, along with 90% of the Irish football loving population. Why do you support a club that you dont belong too, i may be wrong and you could be a born and bred Liverpudlian or you could be just another one of those wannabe scousers whoes to much of a sh!t to support a crap team. If your going to support an English team why do you not support a Conference team or Championship team instead of Liverpool? Is it your afraid to be on the losing side or are you afraid of sacrifice in supporting a real team, either way those wannabe Brits are jokes but i can tell you that supporting your local team is an awfull lot sweeter than a Premiersh!t team cause after so many dissapointments and lows, when you get some success it tastes so much more sweeter than yee can ever imagine.

firstly its complete BS to slag people off who support an english team. i was brought up as a liverpool fan and started supporting saint pats of my own accord. if my dad or mates had an interest in irish soccer maybe i would of had no interest at all in english football but I do and that doesnt make premiership haters bigger fans of irish soccer than me

secondly liverpool will be in the champions league from the start of the competition. someone will get a bye into the second round and everyone is happy. end of

actually, Liverpool were in the Champions league from the start of the competition- it started last August and they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the next round, beaten to it by neighbours Everton :D

I don't see how this will work out. Surely UEFA are about to add an odd number of entrants so someone will have to lose out?

I'm not exactly sure of the rules but it does state that at bthe Knock out stages you can have no more than 4 teams from 1 country,so if it happens that Liverpool,Man u,Arsenal,Chelsea and Everton go through to knock out stages there would be outrage amongst the rest of the Europe.

I don't think the other 4 english teams would be happy either as they will have to split the tv 5 instead of 4 ways.

Just boot Everton out of it FFS and get this sorted once and for all  Give them a pay off and a pat on the back. I dont see why England shoulld be treated differently than Spain.

The only way I could see Liverpool in the CL with no-one being pi$$ed on in some way would to have an extra qualifying round of the CL with the 2nd teams of other countries (like Ireland :)), and put Liverpool in here, so you would have a "round 0" so to speak. The teams who would play them in the next round should still beat them, except for the ones who play liverpool, but at least they would get a really good gate.

J'know ... i'd say you are totally wrong there ..... if da'pool dont get to that CL as the rules dictate .... the whole thing will just carry on with out them as if it never was an issue !!

Liverpool are building up to a big 'throw the rattler from the pram' episode and it'll be a joy to behold !! :p

People are missing the point here. Liverpool have not won a title in years, what the **** did they do to deserve being in the "champions" league last season anyway?

You're taking the p' now... I think it's quite clear by now, that I am not a Scouser. But what's that got to do with anything? Liverpool have 10 million fans around the world. It's 20 minutes away from Dublin, it has a large Irish community, it's the nearest Premiership team to Ireland, several Irish internationals play/have played for the team. The club has fans across the world from America to Australia, of which some come from Ireland.

Most fans don't choose to support a club, but they inherit it from their family's/relations favourite teams. That's how I came to support Rovers, and Liverpool. I don't see what the big issue is here, tbh. It appears pretty straight-forward to me.

It also has nothing to do with the thread as well.

Liverpool have 10 million fans around the world. :
My apologies My Post, you are deluding yourself along with 10 million other people around the world, barring anyone who comes from Liverpool or lives in Liverpool. Do you also know that there are 6 clubs in Dublin, correct if im wrong cause my Geography could be a bit hazey but arnt they closer to you than Liverpool. So what if they had irish internationals playing for them, it doesnt mean Irish generations are going to grow up worshipping Levant just cause Ian Harte played for them.
You are just spewing out the standard cliches and excuses for supporting a foreign team, remember they are FOREIGN not irish, english, and yes a large irish community lives in Liverpool and supports them, but ive also heard there are a few Irish people supporting the teams in there domestic league.
And blame it all on the parents when you cant justify being another barstool supporter, i know alot of fans started supporting there local teams of there own accord, regardless of there parents.
Im just trying to find out why you delude yourself into believing you give a sh!t about a FOREIGN team.

Have you special dispensation form the Anfield board to land on the centre circle before every game or what?

Eh, Dublin is zero minutes away from Dublin, it has a HUGE irish community, has several premier division teams and both Bohs and Shels have more Irish internationals in their team than Liverpool do! :ball:

Yes there are 6, of which I support one of them. When you've fully read, and clearly understood my previous posts on this thread and why I said them, it should be made quite clear where I stand on the issue. I'm not going to waste time repeating myself!
