that's great, better than Fabian O'Neal but not as good as Carlos McAllister......and Shedite, he plays for Barcelona's handball team, not football team.

Does he??? Seems a bit odd alright but on this page he's listed in the squad along with Samuel E'too and Ronaldinho. Are they any good at handball??? :D

:D :D :D

Real Madrid do that as well, I remember seeing Pat Burke listed as a first team player for Real (he plays for the basketball team!).
For example (http://realmadrid.com/plantilla/primerbaloncesto/portada_eng.htm)

don't know if your being sarcastic Shedite, but at 33, we would have heard of him by now as a football player.

Now Jack, c'mon willya?!? I'm thirty-three and it's only the mypoia of the FAI scouting network (and - get this - a "lack of talent"!) that's preventing me from a much-deserved late breakthrough into the Ireland first team...

:D PP

Along the same lines, there's a striker after making the step up to the Man City reserves from the academy side called Ishmael Miller, and started banging them in for the reserves. I sent a mail to the FAI about him, and got no reply :(

One of the Sundays did a piece on O'callaghan a few months ago (after he starred in the olympics) His Great-Great-Great grandfather was from ireland. He's never been to Ireland but lists Irish music as one of his hobbies. As a kid his nickname was "the irishman" (in Catalan obviously)
