Did ye see Toolans article in the W-ender? Complaining about the “SMALL” crowds!!!!!! What the f*ck has that man been watching for the last 4 or 5 seasons? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the level of support that’s coming into the Showgrounds now.
Yes we would all like to see twice the amount of supporters coming through the turnstiles. But let’s be realistic here. We are this season the best supported club in the division, and also getting much better support than quite a few Premier division clubs are.
Is the way to increase crowds, to start criticising what is already coming out? I don’t think so. He should be on the paper saying how great the support is, and encouraging more to come along to a great atmosphere, and evening’s entertainment.
I would guess that last night’s game in the Showgrounds, would be the highest attendance of any of the other league cup match’s. Maybe I’m wrong but I think he should be a bit more appreciative of the crowds we are getting.

I think the attendances have been very high this season.
Ok there not a sell out but very reasonable compared to other division 1 teams.
Getting rid of the student rate amongst other things have not helped but he should damn glad of the support this season.

FFS, what any club in Ireland would give for the support we get after spending so many mind-numbing years in this grave yard.

Your talking out of your arse.Dublin was a great game away, the crowd were fantastic,a couple of hundred, mostly rovers fans.If you were there you'de know about it.Teams come to showgrounds in search of a point, thats why the game is so broken up.Galway will do the same so dont be expecting anything else.

Our average for us this season is around 900-1000. Our highest gate was 2000-2500 for Linfield and Glentoran and our lowest has being 600 in UCD.

Yer town has a better soccer tradition than Longfords so I am not surprised with the size of yer crowds and Limericks. Our problem with our location is that we are three miles outside the ground.

Not surprised your attendance is poor if you are located 3 miles “outside the GROUND!!”..........binoculars supplied??

im talking about home games....maybe dublin kildare and galway away were good but there arent many entertaining home games....maybe kildare and dublin but thats about it....most teams just shut up shop.....we play attacking football....its not our fault

if he wants bigger attendances make concessions.....and advertise too ffs!how about a 5 euro for all game and get it about in the local press.....fill up the stands and they[the younger fans] will return!
