Jaws will attract players, the ones that will be looking to see what type of expenses he can provide. They will also be the first out the door when the going get's tough. It's a joke to have him back. He was last in charge in early 90's and almost ruined the club then.

What a joke, how can Mungret justify getting rid of Pat Irwin and replacing him with Jaws Ryan, talk about not learning from your mistakes. If any of the mungret lads are logged on - run while you have a chance and don't look back.
Don't cut the grass for a few weeks!

I dont know of many players out there that would be willing to sign for Mungret, maybe he has something up his sleeve, like a ladder.

Jaws will not be taking the Mungret job afterall, he has turned it down favouring another contract, he is to star in the new Hollywood Blockbuster "Up Periscope 2"

Jaws has taken over Mungret (confirmed) but Ger Collopy will not be signing with them as he will now be staying with Star Rovers.
Pat Irwin was sacked by Mungret

Is it worthwile keeping him.Good Keeper but has he even played a game this year yet.He rarely turns up
Fairview have being deducted 6 points, because of the mix up when they signed the ex-league of ireland players this year

GB, i'm involved in the Mungret setup. I don't know what to make of the situation yet. I think a lot of the players are going to bide their time for a few weeks and see what happens.

I doubt it will go to the fai as Fairview know there secretary made a balls of it.Them points will probably end up costing em the league.

6 points may be a bridge too far, why do they have this restriction for players that bettered themselves in the LOI and now can only better our own league by returning. Can someone clarify the official ruling on this and then compare that to the LDMC's version.
They will want to get it addressed before the FAI game against janesboro

something about fairview thinkin that when the players were released from limerick that that was it. But those players had to be transfered aswell as released. Don't know if the teams that objected will get the points or not. Fairview will appeal to the munster council or to the FAI in Dublin they'll get the points back....

GB, I iamgine that was the reason that the ex-loi players were absent on sunday last...From what i am hearing, the players are now cleared for all competitions...On what the problem was, I think that it had something to do with being registered in two leagues during the same season, I.e. el and ldmc. No transfer between leagues had been completed. Thats all that i heard...........

it seems like a stupid mistake to make from the clubs point of view.it should have been sorted at the start of the season though, but u usually cant get a straight answer of any sort from the ldmc anyway.

Getting back to Pat Irwin, I heard that at least 3 members of the team approached the commitee looking for him to go. Any truth?

come on alan mungret are not dat bad must be better than star
Mungret are poor and only really have 3 or 4 good players.
Gary Long, Keith McNicholas, and 1 or 2 others.
If both teams were to play each other now I would say Star would come out on top.

Smackers a big name player - your having a laugh
Big name player from the boro - must be some polish dude with a long name.
I saw jaws in rashers the other night - he went bolistic and ripped the cigarette machine off the wall.
Scrool Down to find out why?
Wait for it...

Seems to me that everyone on this site is of the opinion that Mungret will get relegated. I seem to remember last year that the same thing was been said at the start of the season. We stayed up last year and we'll stay up again this year. We have a few aces to pull out of the hat yet player wise.

Well you could try.
1 Did a number of players approach the commitee to get rid of irwin.
2 Were you not around the last time it did not work out with Jaws. The fact that yee are playing Regional in a premier match this week is a direct result of real clubmen leaving so they did not have to listen to his s**t.

Your missing the point........
Jaws has intrest in 1 thing.....himself.
If a bigger club offered him a position as manager he would leave yee in 2 seconds.
Whether yee stay up or not is irrelevent. He will bring in the spongers that he can get and good club men will eventually leave. (Remember Tony Mac? Tom O Connell?) When he moves on (be it 2 days or 2 years) the spongers will leave with him and yee will be in the s**t again.
By the way, get ready for trips to Caherdavin and Abbey cause you are going down...................

They may be playing Caherdavin next year but not Abbey as they too will be relegated (to Div 1B).
Relegated from Prem (Mungret & UL/AA)
Promoted from Div 1A (Star & Corbally)

must agree with Unreal Madrid there,
If you are on the committee with Mungret Regional what gave you the permission to approach a boro and pike player? Is that not against the rules?
Who is this mystery boro player
A sleeping giant - more like a lame duck - still I like your optomism - I would have liked to see yee stay up but with that egg in charge - enjoy 1A.

Unreal Madrid you should get your facts right before you talk. Tom O'Connell left Mungret because he said he could no longer give the commitment required to be a premier player. He ended up at regional as a favour to his brother Seamus. As for Tony Mc, he left because he asked the manager at the time Aoghan Behan if he could guarantee him a starting place every week to which he was told no because we had players like Jason Mullins, Dara Droog and Mark Finucane etc. in defence. The fact that he was 44 at the time didn't really help his case either. So as you can see they left of their own accord, they weren't ran out of the club as you are suggesting. Incidentally Tony Mc still manages a schoolboy team within the club.

[QUOTE=Mercurial Vapor] So as you can see they left of their own accord, they weren't ran out of the club as you are suggesting.
I know they left of their own accord.... but they were good clubmen who gave a lot to the club. The sort that you still have plenty of at your club who may leave , in time, when they see the circus that will happen around them. They will be replaced by the transfer hoppers who have no commitment to Mungret. So, IMO, it's a lose lose situation.
