jason o connor from boro to carew and also skinner from balla to carew
dermot finnan back to the view and davey wall to pike

No way is Finnan going back to fairview as long as Eaon Heffernan is chairman.

[QUOTE=widow]no never unfortunately, they were always harder to win back then....
are you saying the fai is easy to win these days? is it cos the view have won 6 recently?if so it couldn't have been too hars to win back then either when cherry orchard won theirs
Lads ,lets face it,is it not true that the only reason Limerick teams, namely Fairview are winning the FAI Junior these days is that there is no intermediate football in the area. The likes of Cherry Orchard,Usher Celtic ,St Francis,Malahide etc are no longer in the running is because if they have a "junior" team it is their second or third team that enters.Does anyone remember the standard of those Dublin teams??One year St Francis had a guy called Smyth playing left back against Balla, the year before he had played for Athlone in the European Cup against AC Milan!!!! Similarly the same drain is on Cork Junior football.

obviously the better players eventually leave the junior scene,it happens everywhere whether it be to intermediate or eircom league clubs.how many fairview players have left to play for limerick in recent years? i bet you could put together a fine team there.what i don't agree with is that the fai is easier to win now,i can't remember any team other than the view, winning it too often!

totally agree with u but it has changed,if there is big money involved in the eircom league these days ,and if there is any half decent player playing leinster junior league football he will more than likely go league of ireland, cherry orchard and st francis and even fairview would prob have held there own in the first division, there,s even talk that views best young players are going to limerick next year ,that wouldnt have happened 10 years ago also the bigger profile of the eircom league these days is alot higher

Cherry Orchard won 1 less time than Fairview in the past but now you never hear of them featuring because they have moved up a grade.THIS IS THE PROOF OF HOW IT IS EASIER TO WIN NOW,as their first teams, who dominated in the past are no longer in the competition, what you get now is their second team.

with the current team there now and the heart the display he would probably captain the a team,it goes to show when the success dried up they didnt want to know about it.

Mike Kerley

the same mike kerley that was banned from signing with the view ,remember he travelled to dublin with them for an fai 1/4 final and when he got there decided he wanted to go and watch the irish rugby team instead, that sounds logical, get rid of dermot finnan a man who brought unknown success to the view and bring back a man who wasnt even committed as a player,

ok,hypothetically speaking, if fairview were to move up to intermediate, would that then make the fai even easier to win?

I would not dismiss the view that handy, they will sign players for next year and will be fighting with balla and pike for the league. The rest will be hoping for mid table finishes at best. the view will still attract players away from other clubs. If you were a player looking to move clubs who would you sign for next season?

Why would he want to sign for them? They will struggle next year? Why not Pike or the View?

Just heard Jacko had indeed signed for Carew Park, he will be signing aotographs in the E wheel this Sunday.

Ha ha your having a laugh..There a good team at best to call them the best Club In Ireland  Clubs have a good underage set up which is non existent up there. They should not even be allowed have a junior team if they have no underage and that goes for any Team/ club that does not have at least a couple of underage teams to bring through.Pike Abbey Carew Park etc should get there act together and bring through the youth .

Pike have an under 10 team...how can you say that they have no set up.
They will be raping the town and Clare all summer long.
Fairview will be back, no matter who takes over..too big a club.
Balla will be there or there abouts again along with Pike and maybe the Boro will have a good season...

ALL THE CLUBS YOU HAVE MENTIONED HAVE DIFFERENT DEFINITIONS OF A GOOD SEASON.

TO PIKE, BALLA & FAIRVIEW A GOOD SEASON IS WINNING THE LEAGUE & A GOOD RUN IN THE FAI OR MUNSTER JUNIOR BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL LIFTED ONE OF THESE TROPHIES IN RECENT TIMES.
THE BORO ARE HAPPY ENOUGH WITH BEING THE BEST OF THE REST & NOT REALLY CHALLENGE FOR THE MAJOR HONOURS.
ONLY BALLA CAN CLAIM TO HAVE HAD A GOOD SEASON LAST YEAR.

How can you say Balla are the only team to have had a good season!!!! Pike have won the touhy , will win the lawson and got to the league final and the 1/4 final of the FAI ( losing to the eventual winners ) ;) . Pike should have won the league but had to wait 7 weeks to play a league game because Paddy Cusack is a balla man.

Because with all due respect to the Lawson & tuohy none of the big 4 clubs in town are interested in them until they are out of contention for the major competitions, with the exception maybe of the Boro.

Pike are used to winning leagues & Munster Junior Cups, the Lawson & Tuohy are not considered priority by Pike or Fairview or Balla who have now won back to back leagues.

My point is that at the beginning of the season the aim for Pike, Balla & Fairview is to win the league, fai or Munster Junior & to achieve this is a successful season.

No one remembers the 1/4 final of the FAI or a league final.
The winners are remembered.

The point about Paddy Cusack being Fixtures Secretary, and Ballynanty winning the league is moot, but possibly contains a lot of truth. I think its fair to say that if the league ties were played regularly each week, and mapped out in advance, Pike would have won the league comfortably.

Balla found themselves in the easy position of playing catch up against teams that had little or nothing to play for, and some who even struggled to field teams...hardly fair on Pike.If it was a level playing field, no back log of games etc, and an unbiased fixtures secretary then I think it'd have been a different story.
