1-0 then :D

Apparently goalscorer was Anthony Elding (plays for Stevenage Borough)

Disgraceful decision by the ref to allow the goal, when McNulty was clearly being held back from trying to get to the ball by an English player.

I know it's the same old story, but that ref was way too fussy and felt he had to play a major part in the action. At one stage he came over to the England manager and told him to sit down about 10 times. Then he walked away, came back again, told the English manager to sit down about 10 times more, then a bit of a shouting match between them and then gave up and walked away again, and English manager never sat down. Totally pointless waste of time, just like a lot of the English players who kept falling over and lying on the ground as if they were dead.

Poor enough performance by the Irish lads, though, but congratulations to Kevin Murray, it is an honour and a great achievement to captain your country.

I dont get any pleasure out of saying this, but it was a poor performance by the referee last night...but everyone has an off day! Should have been a free kick to Ireland that lead to englands goal.
Ireland didnt deserve to lose the game and played well imo considering that the opposition are more experienced and play at a higher level.

Just a word about the attendance, approximately 2000.Not bad considering the FAI wanted the tournament in Dublin

2000 is very good attendance. They would have struggled to get half that in Dublin.

I also see the Scottish Highland League (5th division?) beat Welsh league 5-1.

1-0 defeat for irish u-21 league ain't bad against English Conference - seemed to havea lot of Barnet & Exeter players.

There's no way there was anything like 2000 at that game. Less than 1000
