Joe McGlue, Security Officer of the FAI has issued directives for supporters who intend traveling to Oriel Park on Friday for the FAI Carlsberg Cup semi final between Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers.

The instructions come on the back of discussions held with the Gardai in the interests of having a successful plan of arrangements in place for the smooth running and stewarding of the game.

Supporters are urged to allow sufficient time for the journey to Oriel Park and to take into consideration possible delays due to Friday afternoon/evening traffic heading North on the N1. Delays of up to one hour are possible on the route particularly for those traveling from Dublin. Arrangements for car and coach parking have been made for the area in the vicinity of Dundalk Garda station on the Ardee Road (N52).

Kick off time will under no circumstances be delayed (7.35pm).

Shamrock Rovers advise their fans that tickets for the game can be purchased from the club until Friday morning. The Gardai will erect a barrier around the ground and nobody will be allowed through without a valid ticket.

Dundalk FC advise that home fans and away fans will be segregated and security will be tight with a large presence of security officers, Gardai and units from Civil Defence.

Away fans will be asked to remain in the ground for 10 minutes after the final whistle to allow home fans to leave the ground and disperse.
