A Touch of Jameson
Walking away from Dalymount Park last Friday evening having witnessed a magnificent display by Shamrock Rovers midfielder Pat McCourt one could only be reminded of the last player to show such sublime skill on the hallowed Dalymount turf, the late Jackie Jameson.
A hat trick which included two of the best goals seen at the venue in a long time capped an impressive display by Roddy Collins side. McCourt’s ability to ghost by players, see a pass early and stay calm in front of goal were all the hallmarks of the late great Jackie Jameson. Also the return of Jason McGuinness to the heart of the Rovers defence beside Jason Gavin looks all set to become a formidable partnership.
