Currently 0-0 at HT, I suppose a draw suite us? Or a Switzerland win?
I think a Denmark win would be the worst for us.

The speed the game is being played at is so far from what we seen in Georgia.
Draw has to be our best hope

Defo a draw, they both drop 2 points and puts a bit of pressure on Switzerland V us.

Would a Swiss win not be better. Would mean they're virtually qualified and would probably be happy with a draw against us. Then we would just need to draw with Denmark to qualify.
We're usually good for a draw.

Might as well give the Swiss the 6 points from Gibraltar and home to Georgia and Denmark the 3 points against Gibraltar.
Denmark P 7 Pts 15 (to play Ire away)
Switz P 7 Pts 14 (to play Ire home)
Ireland P 6 Pts 12 (to play Swi away and Den home)
We need to beat one of them or we're gone.

Will Denmark be qualified by time we play them?

Thanks I was trying to do that myself but i screwed up because I was looking at the table and did not realize the in play results were included hence I had Denmark on 18!!
right so we are going to have to beat someone :tremble:?
A worrying thought, we could have done with a win today, but I guess we are still in it.

Hadn't thought of that. If we get a point in Switzerland then Denmark will have qualified by the time we play them - would be a bit like Italy at Euro 2016.
So maybe there is a benefit to drawing on Tuesday, I had though a draw was worthless.

I don't know what the rule is for level on points but I can't see it favoring us whatever it is.

So 100% we'll be set up for draw on Tuesday and hope to catch a already qualified Denmark at home

We’ve got the Nations League route....
Probably Scotland, Northern Ireland and Norway?

More likely Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Wales.

That's total farce, might as well give a participation medal too

Didn't see there was a separate thread on this - but to summarise my post in the other thread, a Denmark win in a game the Swiss dominated was the worst result for us. Any other result and two draws would have done us. Now any win will qualify us - but we must beat someone. And that's a tall order with our squad.

True; in a way, it's easier to get three points than two.
Though we're very good at getting draws and not so good at winning...

I would start Connolly. even with two men marking him he nearly scored.
He will lift us and worry the opposition, he can score a goal out of nothing.
