One omen they didn't metion however is that Clarence Seedorf has played in 3 Champions League finals and won all 3. Each time, the team he played for wore a all-white kit - Real Madrid, Ajax and Milan
scary biscuits if you are a pool fan! :)
I'm sure there is many more of these so-called omens out there!

The last time there was a new pope and Wales won the Grand Slam and Liverpool lost the League Cup Final to the eventual winners of the league was 1978, and Liverpool went on to win the European Cup.

Yeah I think and hope Milan win it, althought it would be good to see Finnan get a medal, so in one way I would not mind that.

Yeah, but Traore wasn't playing in defence in '78 ;) :D

The previous 4 times Liverpool have won European Cup Finals have all been while wearing red against teams in white.

People also forget that Milan have never won a Champions League title when the final is in Istanbul, while Liverpool have never previously failed to win the top pan-European club Trophy on offer when Chelsea has won a league & league cup double in the previous six months!
That said....

Well Heres something interesting for all the Liverpool fans the Odds for the Champions league final from gamebookers.ie, I had a look on Oddschecker and the next best price on Liverpool is only 6/4 with PP and a slew of other bookies.
I can't see this price holding until near the final as its bound to be heavily backed. Much as I don't want the Pool to win this one I think I'll stick a few bob on to ease the pain if they do!! :(
16/17 AC MILAN 13/6 LIVERPOOL 3/1

As said on boards.ie, Paddy Power's price of 6/4 is to win the CL. I assume the gamebookers odds are only over the 90 minutes.

The gamebookers odds include a draw so only over the 90 minutes.

Yep I have corrected myself, was looking on the wrong page on Oddschecker for the comparision, Sorry, still a great price to get now I think as closer to the match it will get backed in. Paddy Power not even offering match odds on the game yet.

I am 99% sure that when Ajax won it 1995 they wore there away strip, dark blue (black even) against AC Milan who also wore their away strip of all white.
The following year Ajax wore white - they lost to Juventus.

Milan will put their trust in their 'maglia fortunata' - lucky jersey - as they attempt to repeat the feat of Old Trafford where they beat Juve on penalties to become European champions for the sixth time. Milan also wore white in Barcelona, Vienna and Athens for their victories in 1989, 1990 and 1994, but were in black and red for the defeats by Olympique de Marseille (1993) and AFC Ajax (1995).
from: uefa.com
looking back though I think your right, Milan possibly wore white in that game vs Ajax although UEFA have said different in two separate articles on their site. :)

Milan wore white, Ajax wore their black\navy away strip. There's a link below to an Ajax fans site about the '95 final with photos. So Milan have lost in white ;)
