Sorry I should rephrase that , it is all World Cups added together. Not just one World Cup.

Ireland have conceded only 10 in 13 games by my reckoning. Less than 1 a game. That might do it?

NeilMcD

Congratulations, buy that man a pint, the clue was in the forum that I posted it in.

ya but thats only cos ireland have been in 3 world cups!!!! that wuld average out for someone like italy far better

NeilMcD
09/05/2005, 1:32 PM
Ours in the lowest average I believe, even better than Italy.

paul_oshea
09/05/2005, 1:34 PM
ya but how many games have italy played. do you mean a better goals to game ratio?

i still think if we had 26 games we wouldnt have conceded 20, i.e. we would have conceded more probably.

stojkovic

I always thought it was Wales.

Ireland 10 in 13 = 0.769 goals per game
Wales 4 in 5 = 0.80 goals per game

But you are right.

Jaysus

But we probably have the lowest goals SCORED per games aswell.

Dawn_Run
09/05/2005, 1:35 PM
Ireland's is the lowest average.

Here (http://www.neilandlaure.com/worldcup/ranking.html)

Edit: They are counting penalty shootouts in this.

NeilMcD
09/05/2005, 1:43 PM
That table includes penalty kicks in our goals against which is mad

paul_oshea
09/05/2005, 1:45 PM
sure morocco are only one behind us. i dont think it really counts for much. we could have got a roasting if we had met brazil in a quarter final in either world cups.

we have only won 3 bleeding games!!!

NeilMcD
09/05/2005, 1:46 PM
Its a quiz its not meant to count for anything, just some little bit of trivia to ask in the pub when the conversations topics run low.

It actually makes us look better, because it counts penalty kicks for aswell :D
Given the number of games we've played, we're probably one of the lower scoring teams (2 in '90, 2 in '94, 6 in '02, 3 -v- Saudi, possibly the worst team ever to play in the WC :p )

paul_oshea

ok then:
what player has played in the london derby, the merseyside derby, the north east derby, the milan derby and the munich derby

also what team has four words in its name

NeilMcD

[QUOTE=paul_oshea]sure morocco are only one behind us. QUOTE]

Well our total is actually 10 rather than 17 and Moroccos is 18 as I dont think they have been ivolved in a penalty competition. So we are 8 better off than them

Didn't Morocco lose to West Germany 4-1 on penalties in 1986?

Well that's different then.

John Barnes. Watford, Liverpool and Newcastle. As "from the same city" was in brackets, I'm taking it as a clue and not a requirement for the answer.

Name the only player who has won SIX European Cup (winners) medals.

And a player who may get his FIFTH on May 25th.

paul_oshea
09/05/2005, 3:23 PM
maldini or cafu? for the second one.

Di Stefano?

the question ( as i was asked it ) is meant to be which player won an fa cup medal for three different london clubs, however i knew that there was more than one so i only gave a hint. because i thought it was a bit obvious if i said a london club

paul_oshea
09/05/2005, 3:25 PM
a google has got me the answer to that:
Real Madrid legend Francisco Gento.

what player won six Premiership titles, two FA Cup winners' medals. he won one more medal but it will def give it away if i say that one.

Gento is correct.

Maldini is going for his fifth.

Seedorf only has three.

well i googled gento, cos i wasnt sure, but i assumed it was maldini, fairly obvious really. wasnt sure about cafu thought he might, but how long was he playing in south america before he moved to europe?

iim hoping someone can tell me the answer to this one, whoo played in the liverpool derby, the london derby and the manchester derby, i think he played around the early 90's but i dont know who it is, thought it was parker ( not paul ) but i donot think it is.

Could it be Paul Stewart - Spurs, Liverpool and Man City.

Cafu was at Roma before Milan. He only has one Euro winners medal.

ya that makes sense, i know this is silly , but i think i got the paul part mixed up with paul parker, but assumed it was the surname.

when i get time i think i will grab all the questions on this forum and put them to a spreadsheet.
