Anyone know the next el game scheduled on either of the channels or do they pick and choose as they go along. :ball:

They need to give 10 days notice before one, so we will only know 10 days before the next one. Longford and Cork both have matches in the Setanta Cup coming up on TV though, and the final will include at least one EL team.

I'd say Setanta will have game maybe at end of month or start or June when they got no rugby left & Setanta Cup is over. RTE & TG4 would want to get moving before get obcessed be bogball.

Didn't they say a while back that there'd be no televised games 'til August, when the GAA season would be nearing completion...

nah.. that cant be right.. can it??

surely this would make it impossibe for them to fulfill their obligations (re:number of matches to be televised) without having to screen almost every match between august and the end of the season??

That was RTE only, Setanta and TG4 are part of this deal too.

sure what would the gaa season have to do with it? eL games are played/televised on a friday night, was that not part of the deal? gaa games are played saturday evenings and sunday afternoons.

Perhaps at the end of the Setanta Cup Setanta TV will show a couple of games to keep people watching.

I don't know what they'll have on during the summer. No rugby, no euro soccer no scottish soccer. Surely they'll have some time for EL games.

Don't they show GAA too?

all the O.B. units will be tied up at the GAA Games.

Setanta don't have championship coverage, while TG4 only show highlights. Aside from Comórtas Peile the Gaeltachta (by all accounts a great way to spend the June bank holiday, be it looking at it on the ox or getting twisted where it's on) the only home produced sport they'd have is the el.

I reckon Setanta and TG4 will use up a fair chunk of the games they've signed up to show over the summer.

Its no harm to save the live tv games for while as have Setanta Cup ticking over for next few weeks. League will be showing more structure then so be less chance of showing a 0-0 relegation battle between Pats & Bohs ;)

Excuse you we're strictly lower mid table, thank you very much! :) The problem is that they had the chance to build an audience and the figures for the first two games were OK but if the nonEL fanatic wants to watch a game he'll never know when its on but if it was every week he'd know...

Sorry, mixing ye up with Bohs & Rovers in relegation zone. All ye bottom half the table teams are the same these days. ;)
