It was a different ref langerdan. By all accounts there’s two different stories about what happened but look if the ref asks you to leave just go. Can’t imagine either team being happy.

There will always be 2 versions to every story Ballistinianlad, the clubs version and the referees. By all accounts the guy in question has been fairly "vocal" at Pallas games in the past. And yeah Shearer, looks like no lessons have been learned from last year.

Desmond league is turning into a ****show🙈
Referee had a horror show in Cup game St Itas v Breska Rovers, Left St.Itas retake their missed penalties just because Breska keeper clapped his hands, but they weren't left retake a missed penalty during the game when keeper did same thing.

FAI Junior Cup weekends are always good. Interesting to see how Desmond League sides shape-up against their Clare and Kerry counter-parts.
Hard to make a judgement on the Kerry teams as their League hasn't started with long (they were still playing cup games after the Desmond League ended, would love to know the story there).

We had the same situation a couple of seasons ago, we were at home, a spectator was giving out to the ref. over some of his decisions. The ref. asked the player to leave on this the spectator entered the playing area, members of the oposing team stopped him getting near the ref., who then abandoned the match.
After the game being abandoned, a member of the other team who was going for promotion, verbaly attacked and threatened him the spectator that he would break every window in his house if it meant they would lose out on promotion.
The other club claimed afterwards he was not one of their supporters, the result was the ML ruled that the game had to be replayed and we had to pay the ref. in the 2nd game as well.

Cracking result for kilcornan against abbeyfeale. Right job for them. Granagh and broadford had good wins in the fai junior against listowel celtic and bunratty.

Fine win for Kilcornan away to Abbey. Some good wins for DL sides in FAI although Shountrade giving a walkover doesn't look good. Shannonside obliterated by Killarney Celtic last night. You'd have to question the logic of entering a side that struggled in Division 1 last season.

Exactly! Good wins for DL sides but carrig and Granagh played 3rd tier Clare sides - could say the same about those clubs entering into FAI. Imagine Bunratty had to play Killarney.
Good result for Kilcornan, first win the premier I think is it? Abbey and Rathkeale dropping unexpected points already. Exciting start to the premier 19/20, nice to see and you’d almost forget all the negativity last year......

Some good results for Desmond league teams today, however I think teams outside premier divisions should have to play one or two preliminary rounds before entering 1st round proper. Some of the scores in the district league with teams hitting double figures is no good for anyone

Some good results yesterday in the FAI. I can see peoples' viewpoint regarding some of the wins being over lesser sides, but I want the Desmond sides to get as many handy draws as possible so they can all get as far as possible.
Good win for Broadford in their first game of the season. I can't recall the last time they had a good run in the competition but I think they're more than capable of making a run as far as the last 16. With regards to the league, with Abbeyfeale, Rathkeale and Newcastle all having dropped points, Broadford are really waiting in the long grass.
Hate to see any club having to give a walkover, especially this early in the season although a trip to Ennis doesn't help gathering numbers.

I think some clubs enter the fai to try and get a good away day. That’s why I find it funny they couldn’t get enough interest to travel.

A Saturday night out in Killarney probably goes down as a successful run in the FAI for Shannonside. I think it's the main reason anyone in the lower divisions enters the competition. Shountrade probably had the same idea but I'm sure they had hurling championship and were unlucky with the clash.
The Abbey result yesterday and the Rathkeale result last week I think shows improvement in the smaller teams rather than stronger teams falling apart. Other teams folding has certainly strengthened surrounding clubs. I don't think there will be a change in the teams challenging at the top but I do think the gap to the teams behind will be much smaller. Still fancy Rathkeale to win out in the end

Few typos as per.
Tricky draw.
FAI Junior Cup Round 3
Ennis Town v Killarney Ath.
Killarney Celtic v Coole FC
Castleisland FC v Newcastle West Town FC
Carrig Celtic v Kilcornan FC
Fenit Samphires FC v Lifford
Bridge Utd v Ballingarry FC
Shannon Hibs FC v Windmill Utd
Shannon Town FC v Creeves Celtic or Pallaskenry FC
Adare Utd v Granagh Utd.
St. Brendans Park v Shannon Olympic FC
Avenue Utd v Broadford United
Kildysart Celtic or Manus Celtic v Rathkeale FC
Ties to be played weekending 20th October 2019
I think the tie between Kildysart and Manus has already been played with Kildysart (who are second bottom in Clare's second tier) winning the tie.
Avenue is a sticky one for Broadford. They're second in the league but are seemingly always at the business end. Rathkeale beat them at home last year.
Shannon Town got to the last 8 in the 2017/18 edition of the competition, while Castleisland knocked out Newmarket Celtic last week.

Wasnt there but spoke to someone who was. He's Kilcornan, said they were very even in first half, both teams got sloppy goals. He said broadford were much better for 30 minutes of the 2nd half and went 3-1 up. Kilcornan got 2 late goals and missed a great chance to win it. Kilcornan were missing 4 starters. Cathal Downes was the only sub and you'd imagine he'd usually start. They must be strong. I'd like to see them do well

Team was as follows (apologies if I mixed up the two Murphys):
GK. Mike Stack.
RB. Cormac Roche
CB. Joe McAuliffe
CB. Sean O'Shea
LB. Alan O'Shea
CM. Gary Enright
CM. John Hayes
CAM. Fiachra Cotter.
RW. Kevin Murphy.
CF. Darren Murphy.
LW. Tim Larkin
Substitutes used: Jamie Keane, Pa Ahern and Dylan Kelly.
Desmonds could have very well lost 2-0 or even won 1-0, but they will definitely take a point. Not the most exhilarating of games, Desmond very solid at the back but I don't think they tested the Kerry keeper enough. Had one brilliant chance in the last five to win.
Very poor turnout from both camps. There was maybe 12 from the Desmond League and not much more from Kerry, can't understand it. Had the ambience of a pre-tournament friendly.
Limerick District next on Tuesday the 5th, but the final group game against Clare is the big one.
There's an audio summation of the game and an interview with Kerry manager Brian Spillane here:

It's a joke. Broadford management so most of the players are gonna be from broadford. Plenty of players in the league would walk on that team that arent on it. It's a joke

Maybe said players didn’t have the interest.
I agree it’s definitely not the strongest representation we could have. But getting players to commit to it seems difficult.
The structure of the ot tournament is all over the shop. I think they should do something like the Kennedy cup. Run it in one venue like ul. Maybe over a weekend or something like that. I know that’s far from ideal but it may be easier to commit when it’s for one week or weekend rather than the long drawn out competition it is now

Just a note for "fantastic fan" if you look at the team vs kerry you'll see that 1 player each from Glin and Carraig and 3 players each from Abbey Rathkeale and Broadford started that match so how you can say that most of the team are from Broadford makes absolutely no sense.

Super result. Could have easily been more. Desmond’s missed several chances.
District were absolutely terrible but that’s not to take away from the Desmond team performance. Ahern in particular was outstanding

Not that I’m fully sure where the players play their club football but seemed to be a decent spread between abbey. Broadford and Rathkeale.
Ahern and Enright from Rathkeale were excellent.
The defence is solid. Joe mc and Sean o shea dealt with the physical threat of red Hanlon and then marshalled Connor Ellis very well.

FAI Junior Round 4
Rathkeale 6 Lifford Celtic 2
Lifford took an early lead with Ahern equalising. Rathkeale took complete control after the break and went 6-1ahead through Hennessy, S O'Shea, Ahern, M Enright and a penalty from Shorten. Lifford converted a late penalty of their own.

Newcastle West Town 3-1 Shannon Olympic
Rathkeale 6-2 Lifford Celtic
Carrig Celtic 3-2 Killarney Athletic
Granagh United 1-3 Killarney Celtic
3 teams in the last 64 of the FAI is great going, well done to all.
