I think your quotes are usually fair and balanced and its great to get a refs view on things but I have to agree with redandwhite on the John Lenihan view, I first came across him 5 years ago and could not believe he was allowed to take charge of a football match let alone a senior game. And i believe hes performances have deteriorated since then. And that's from a neautal point of you personally I think he's a sound bloke but hes got to be one of the worst in the EU and that's taking in Greece as well.As for chiefscouts transfer rumours you would have a better insight if you went to see Mystic Meg.I looked into my crystal ball and saw that you know diddly squat about the eu or greece

did midleton have any new signings?? how bout your'e selfs?

We've only Mick Devine so far and two young local lads who have returned from Ramblers and City respectively so they will get good game time. Not enough young lads getting a chance up to now.

Not sure if they had anyone as I didn't get to chat to John at the game.

We've Blarney Street at home Sun at three this weekend.

Hope to see ye go up this year clifford ye play the game the right way and have been knocking on the door for a few seasons the dissapointment of missing out should make ye stronger but in saying that its probably the srongest the league has even been this season with ucc tramore carrigaline ringmahon and I see castleview as dark horses this year as Patsy been building a very good up and coming side the past few seasons its going to be a cracking league.

Thanks Goggs, a small bit more quality and we'd be there or thereabouts again. We've a really honest squad and losing Seanie Mc to USA last season in March saw the wheels come off a bit when we were well placed.

Agreed on the quality of the league this time round. UCC will obv be very strong - is Caulfield staying on with them? I'm well on record with my admiration of what Patsy has done and they may well be up there after building for a few seasons. With some of our young lads we're looking at that model as well for a season or two. We've asked the club to form a development team this season (it's being called an under 23 team) and they will play hopefully in the junior league opposite our current juniors. It'll help with player development from 19 to 23 and we'd hope to see a few gems come through from this side. All well and good on paper, but we'll see how it goes.

As before we'll enjoy our few days out in the big bad City and have a warm welcome for all who find us in the sticks! :p

Looking forward to it now.

Any Keane Cup draw yet peeps?

Some good games in the Keane cup coming up.
Blarney were no where near full strength. They had 3 Juniors,1 youth and they were missing at least 8 from their starting team from last year.
Carrigaline fairly impressive. Could well come up again this year.

Wasn't there yesterday due to work commitments, but yeah we lost 5-1. Couldn't tell ya who played well or scored for them, but we had no keeper so had to put a make shift lad in so that didn't help.

2-1 at half time after we took the lead. Happy enough with a lot of aspects of how we performed as we had a back four with two 17 yr olds and two 20 yr olds. Future is where we're at now.

It's called winning football lads. I'll wager that Billy ain't sitting at home crying into his soup cos some jonny on the ditch on a football forum ain't best pleased with having to watch it now and again. Naw I'm sure as one of the most decorated managers of all time really couldn't give a monkeys tbf.

And I hope that Alan goes on to have as proud a record, I wish him all the best (til we get there that is!!).

Ballincollig away tonight for us. Still working with 12 but Mick Devine along tonight so see how we go with a keeper this time.

mount played 3 4 3 and played excellent football.some of the goals scored were exceptional and there wasn't any goal scored as the result of a long hopeful ball.all mounts good play came down the right wing and some of the deliveries were top class.could of scored 10 or even more.that said fermoy under strength but mount only had 13 and 4 or 5 of those wont come close to starting the keane cup.

MSL Preview on todays Echo focusing on Douglas, Rockmount and Avondale with plenty of transfer news both in and out of the clubs.

Avondale have signed Danny Long, Tony Tynan, Keith O'Sullivan, Brain Murphy, Eoin Forde, Willie Heffernan and Alan Carey.
I dont know the two Casement lads (Tynan and O'Sullivan) but judging by the other 5 they have signed they are going to be very strong this year.

Douglas didnt comment much on signings but they have lost a few with Bruton being the biggest loss.

Rockmount have lost a few aswell with O'Riordan, King and Welsh and it seems that Ross O'Callagahan and Philip Cunningham are going to miss some of the season. They have signed Thomas Hughes, Paul Condon and Ian McConville.

Any more news on who other teams have signed, we are at the stage now that players have actually signed forms

the hall lost mark o callaghan and gary drennan squad players if you ask me .murphy started on fire and wa rewarded with a irish call up but then goals just dried . Thomas hughes was with rockmount last year anyway .Think he had commitments with the army and missed last part of the season

Seems all s not well up in mayfield ,seems howard coakley was asked to play right midfield ,threw a strop wouldn't even chase his man back and who ever they were playing scored from it and howard was whipped after 12 minutes

seen heffernan play .poor to be honest too light, looks very unfit

Wouldnt think the Hall would be too worried about who they lost, apparently beat Cork City in a friendly, quite impressively...Think Mark Murphy will be a big loss, other players won't make much of a difference, Bruton and drennan were only fringe players really!! Were you at the crosshaven/corinthians match ballsac??? Were crosshaven good, because going by last seasons teams, Corinthians would have crushed them!!

i was told monday that they were having a big meeting monday night about pulling out there senior team,i didn't hear the out come of that meeting.casement are gone ballinhassig and garyduff could be going, won't the 2nd division be a joke with only 6 or 7 teams in it,i think it should go back to 2 divisions and have 12 or 13 in each division,18 games isn't enough league games in my opinion
