Iv seen this guy 3 times before god hes shocking. Hes about 6 foot 6 but hes pure tripe. City must be stuck this year.

He'll be back up. City are after a 3rd keeper but I doubt it'll be anyone from the MSL. Krawiec from Mayfield played in the pre-season friendly against Cobh but didn't have much to do.

Corinthians 6 Ballincollig 2, wind and rain died just before kick off so we were all looking forward to a good game but it turned out to be very one sided, Ballincollig were missing seven 1st team players and it showed they were awful, nice to get 3 points as we have not played a league game in over 2 months.

conditions were absolutely terrible, game should have been called off to be honest.

Mayfield lead twice but Midleton were superior all over the pitch and eventually the score line told the story. a good 3 points for the lads considering Rockmount and Avondale dropped points and the hall weren't playing,The league is still wide open and who knows what way it could go. All teams in the league are capable of taken points of each other. But Midleton are still the big surprise package this year.

ya very bad conditions the match should have been called off really, gail force winds blowing from 1 goal to the other goal.mayfield had the wind in the 1st half and looked the better team should have been 3 or 4.1 up at half time hoey missed 2 good chance,2nd half was all midleton cos it was there turn with the wind once midleton went 3.2 up our lads seemed to give up, goals 4 and 5 were scored within minutes of goal number 3,midleton also hit the post to made it 6.the better team won on the day but the wind ruined what could have been a good game

avondale should of won it, very good game in spite of the conditions both teams tried to get the ball down and play, very entertaining!

Very good game with both Teams putting in 100%. Avondale were on top in the first 15-20 mins with the wind behind them but failed to create goal scoring opportunities. Rockmount scored after 20 mins, quick free kick to Ginger and he sliced a shot which Buttsey managed to get on the end of it and head it past Dave the Save. From then until half time, Rockmount were on Top. Beechnoir was booked after 5 mins for trying to referee the game, usual from him. On numerous occasions the referee had to tell him shut up.
I know Avondale are guilty of trying to influnence referees but never have i seen a team week on week as poorly behaved towards the ref as rockmount.

Second half, Avondale were playing into to the wind and they we're far better than they were in the first half. Thoroughly deserved their goal. Free kick on the edge of the box was beautfully lofted in by mucking but i was cleared off the line. Hoggy manged to get his foot behind it and from a standing overhead kick, he put it past the Rockmount defence and keeper to make it one all. Minutes later hoggy made a clearence with Beechnoir closing him down. Both men fell to the floor and Beechnoir appeared to not let Hoggy get up. Both players went head to head and the referee booked both players who were already on a yellow and they were given their marching orders.
Spratty had a great chance late on but heroic defending form the Rcokmount No.5 saved a point for Rockmount.

Avondale deserved 3 points and will be kicking themselves to walk away with a draw, this result is sure to please league leaders Douglas Hall.

I know there is 3 serious promotion contenders in Ringmahon, Fermoy and Leeds as they have the points on the board at the moment but looking at the table you will be there or there abouts if ye do well in your games in hand. Do you still feel like you have a chance for promotion or is it a step too far this year? I watched the Avondale game and it looks like a decent enough group of players to at least challenge

Easy to be the best manager when you rob everyone elses players would love to see him manage a team with average players and see how he gets on ie John Cauldfield UCC who is failing miserably

the fact that so many players allow themselves to be ''robbed'' (by mr cronin) in the first place must show that he has some quailities!! it is a big test for mr caulfield but only half way through the season, will have to give him a fair crack of the whip before we can comment fairly!!

avondale and rockmount are not only teams who bring outside players!! most promoted teams each year add 3/4 players, more if they could!!

Its very funny you say this but every year Avondale won the the Intermediate cup they never won the league and have actually played quite poorly in those years but still mananged to win the Cup.

To my knowledge this stat also applies to Rockmount so correct me if i'm wrong so I don't agree with you rubbishing Avondales chances of winning it.

If i was asked who i'd predict, i would say Douglas Hall from what i've seen but i wouldn't put money on them. My money would be on Rockmount or Avondale as they have been there done that without playing particularly well.

Take you back to 1999 when he only had one non Rockmount schoolboy in his squad.Intermediate cup and lge winners that year. Players are never shackled. They can come and go when they please. I sense a case of the auld green eyed monster Goggs.

By all accounts there are some fine players with 15s and 16s. Its a long shot but there is good work being done at that level. As for the poaching policy, once the final whistle goes in one season it is open season to sign players for the following season. Every angle is covered and it is all above board. As I have said in previous posts they are all big boys and no one forces their hands. Small minded out of you Goggs to thrash a group of young fellas who go out for their game of ball every weekend. To be fair I think Goggs has a point. Now I'm the first one to bad mouth Rockmount but I wont argue with their success. For teams like Rockmount, Avondale, Casement, Corinthians, Castleview, Midleton, Tramore and a few more, its all a merry-go-round, The success they have is down to a time when they bring players in from outside, (rockmount 1999 being an exception to the rule glenbuck) inevitably their under age suffers with the exception to corinthians that is, who have the money and manpower to support it. The munster senior league is like a clock, you have so many years at the top, now (avondale and rockmount), then you fall and have to rise again (tramore, castleview, corinthians, midleton and casement), for those clubs like douglas hall and everton, who have a great underage system and bring their players through, they dont quite have the immediate success. they always have their large club status though. just look at everton with their gym and every young fella playing with the club has an everton tracksuit and hat etc, likewise douglas with their all weather pitch and a team of 'homebased' players who are very close to success right now. now i'm avondale and i hope they dont win the league at our expense but i can see a lot of people saying it'll be good for the league, and of course a model for other clubs to build an underage system.
