Castleview lost 3-0 away to Carrigaline in the Intermediate Cup. 10 men after 20 minures, gave away a penalty with 10 minutes to go and conceded two more gaols on full time. Carrigaline were sharper but absolutely no excuses for losing here!!

That's a shame, Mount game called off at 11 on Fri night, away to Blarney this weekend coming.

Carrig and Blarney seem to be the real deal all right, the last few years the teams coming up have done really well eh?

Pity Billy's Boot's doesn't rate anything other than the league as a trophy then isn't it. I assume he'll be happy for Dale to win it out.

I'm never happy to see Castleview lose any game especially Cup Finals at Turners Cross. Should be very interesting for both team to suss each other out before the serious business of league games in the future.

Wow, tomorrow night under lights? Has that been done before?
Unusual, but exciting, I'm glad have been away to UCC already as they will be used to it others won't. Will it become the norm?

Got the tin hat ready for Leeds visit this weekend? Ha ha.

There's always a few games played there every year, UCC start late so it's handy for makes up games early in the season. It's a rugby pitch so don't know how good the surface will be, should be interesting tonight though.

Not really - they just couldn't break down a well organised Carrigaline team.
Don't forget that Carrig also had a player dismisssed at a time when the game was scoreless so Castleview can have few complaints - and, to their credit, they weren't moaning about it.

In fairness to Billy he more or less said the better team won in his post about the game (on page 8, he was most gracious), that comment was just a bit later on. I think everyone in the MSL knows now that Carrig and Blarney are serious and the season is going to be very interesting once the monsoon declines.

Hope you are a Carrig fan/player whatever, we need more clubs represented on this thread, welcome and please keep the info coming.

Not taking anything away from Carrigaline, they won fair and square. But when you've only played two games in two months and none for three weeks before Saturday's game your match fittness is always in doubt. Excuses win you nothing though, so good luck to Carrigaline I hope they go along way now and enjoy it!!

Far to early for must win games, that's their only lg defeat so far so nothing to worry about here. There are a lot of twists and turns to go in this one I reckon.

Ok must win is a bit over the top, but you what I mean. They need to get going again so Everton game is a big one for them. Blarney-Rockmount game looks an interesting one. This will really test Blarney and tell alot about their title ambitions.

Aw yeah, I know what you meant, with conditions like this any result is possible. If indeed any games go ahead. It's been about a month since a Mount game.

A number of factors here, Avondale not used to playing 11 men against Leeds, a weak ref and just basically one of those days.

Yes indeed a very interesting tie to say the least. Castleview will be looking for a good performance after a few dodgy results lately. On form it looks like Avondale need only turn up. Avondale won all cup ties against The 'View last year. Nothing like beating Avondale to kick start a season...C'mon the Champions!! :D

Avondale were awful, worst performance i've seen from them in a long time.
Dale scored after a minute and sat back after that. Then Castleview got a pretty dubious penalty but the post intervened. Early in the 2nd half Avondale doubled their lead against the run of play but shortly after View got one back from a corner. Castleviews dander was up after that and although they had a lot of possession never really threatened. Avondale couldn't put 2 passes together at this stage but as it was so cold I was praying to God Castleview wouldn't get an equaliser though they probably deserved it.
Fraher scored a breakaway for Dale near the end to seal the win and the Donie Forde Cup.

How bad for Avondale, play like that and beat the Champions 3-1. I think Castleview will be quite pleased behind it all though. From what I could see Castleview have nothing to fear in Avondale, maybe it won't be so hard for them to retain their Title after all!!
