 springfield? Was homer and duffman playing? Heard marge had à stinker in goal and the two fulbacks twins i think?not Raphaël and fabio, oh ya patty and selma were not bad though. Cobh revolution i give it half way through 1st division before it goes belly up.
Wait till 1 of the ex league of Ireland division 1 players gets dropped and boom.titanic part 2.celine is writing the soundtrack as we speak

Ringmahon sign Roy Kenny last night from Cobh Ramblers, good signing for Ringmahon. Putting together a nice squad down there. Surely a banker to get promoted this season.

Ringmahon should be there or thereabouts, ya don't know what to expect from the likes of mayfield and blarney and them, blarney will b too young I think, a lot of their u19 team training iv heard

True that. Saw the sign in Cobh today, local club, local players...and a ramblers sign next to it promoting their game v Waterford (I think). Kinda looks like a dig at ramblers to be honest, but could be wrong.
Any hassle between ramblers & wanderers?

Saw the signs too as have others which hasn't gone down well with some, I thought the same thing that it was a dig at Ramblers which surprised me as I never heard of any animosity between the two teams. I guess the likes of Martin Deady, Brendan Frahill, George Gill, Eoin Hastings, Shane Halla and Keith O'Flynn aren't local enough!
That said I'd bite your hand off to have the likes Conor and John Meade, Davin and Chubbs to be playing with Ramblers but good luck to them.

Played a bit with them last year. Reserve keeper is probably a bit harsh- I thought he played a good few games?

Cork city do your city your club so why shouldn't they say local club local players IF that is the case which I suspect it is. Wanderers has always been a feeder club to Ramblers and both clubs get on really well but having said that politics has always been the biggest problem down there.
Rams u19's were virtually all from cork and the senior team is more or less the same. Hallahan no2, Hastings when has he actually played, Gill is 16, Deady is off to Wexford, do their squad is prob 85% cork players

Read my original post. Did I state Cobh wasn't in cork? I noticed the wanderers sign next to the ramblers one. It implied wanderers was the 'local team'
Comic book guy from Cobh replied it didn't go down well with some.

Seen the squad Wanderers had for their game yesterday, over 20 plus players, wouldn't like to be telling a lot of those players they are on the bench. Serious squad!

One thing that annoys me is how people expect that Ramblers should have a mostly local team. League of Ireland standard is so high that a squad of players from a town of 12,000 just won't work. People need to realise that. When we won the league there were 4/5 Cobh players and no-one cared as they were successful

Spot on, nobody cares when they're going well, it's just I thought it was an uncalled for dig.
I'm sure the natives of Longford don't care much that their team is almost all made up of Dubs.

I agree that they will always need outside players because of the standard but the reality is more locals the better because it generates more support, what's wrong with Wanderers saying they are the local team with local players if its true. Rams could always say the same and playing at a higher level.

Current Squad for a recent friendly 6-0 win over Springfield,

Jason Greene, Eddie Nolan, Peter Nolan, John Meade, Timmy O'Shea, Jason Abbott, Davin O'Niell, Owen Kinsella, Conor Meade, Ian Stapleton, Damo Brady, Alan Burns, Barrie Hastings, Ian Stack, Jimmy Griggin, Kyle Downing.

Some familiar names that have returned to Cobh?

Should some of them be really helping Cobh Ramblers in the Airtricity First Division or is there politics involved again in Cobh's great soccer history?

Citys U19s pulled out late on so Mount played their own U17s and were 2-0 down at half time before they mixed up the teams and it became mess really after that
