Enough said, he couldnt get a game with Leeside a a few years back. he must be after improving.
If a team is beaten 5-0 it's hardly one players fault....

Costly points dropped by the students I know it's early days but those 2 draws could come back to haunt them as dale will only get stronger with there injured players and suspended players coming back. Leeds had a big win yesterday could be a right dog fight at the bottom makes for a very interesting season ahead.

Great point for Douglas Hall. UCC down 4 pts already after 3 games. League should be much tighter this year, dale strong looking yesterday vs Mary's. could've ended a draw though. Could d hall give the dale a real challenge in intermediate cup next week...interesting game!!

well if their nearest challengers are already down 4 points and avondale are 2 from 2 im not sure how this league will be any closer than last. avondale will only get stronger as season progresses so early on was the time for someone to go and put a serious challenge in but it doesnt look like it will happen.
Fair point. All I'm saying is their two victories this year were v tight games versus last year when they steam rolled everyone.

Midleton 3-2 Everton (aet).
The 1st half was the worst I've ever seen. The standard was appalling but it was exciting at the end to be fair. The guy Lawrence Fitz for Everton was the only player on the pitch who looked to get on the ball and play.
Fair Duce to Everton who kept going right to the end. IMO they were the better team.
The guy hadji missed an open goal, the winner was offside and midleton should have had a player sent off but the ref bottled it.
Midleton made crazy changes far too early in the second half which nearly cost them the game.

How is the Midleton winner off side are you for real Stacky put ball past full back before smashing into corner . Changes came with 12 min to go at 2 up . To late not really . Great entertainment are you forgetting our chances to score , we deserved to win yes Laurence played very well he is a good player . Game started scrappy but it's a semi final both teams not wanting to lose we controlled second half till the point Everton scored First goal . Roll on the final in 2 weeks

Totally for real. The linesman was to high up and stacky was 2 yards off. He came back from an offside position before receiving the ball and then took on the defender and finished superbly. Everyone where I was could see it and I could tell by the facial expression on the linesman that he knew he missed it.
The changes were completely wrong and nearly cost Midleton a place in the final. Suddenly they were short up top and to defensive with the game going into extra time. Everton looked the more likely to win it. I was very disappointed with Midleton, all long balls from the back 4 and very little football played. Everton on the other hand had some good young players who were running at defenders and playing one two's. Emmet o'Hanlon should have been sent off and the ref bottled it. That would have been the dif ESP with game going to extra time. U cud c the everton players were frustrated over this. Ref wouldn't send him cause midleton were coasting and the game was nearly over.
Anyway it's Midleton in the final and congrats.

Ballincollig 1-2 Cors in the Keane Cup after extra time. Awful conditions for both teams. Big talking point was the refs decision not to send off the Cors keeper when he stopped a shot with his hand outside the box. Took an age to make his mind up and eventually gave a yellow card. He was card friendly for both teams, must have booked 8 or 9 players without there being a bad tackle in the game.

Is Caulfield going to City this time? Rumours are he is going in as the Roy Keane of the Cork City set up. Assistant man. Any truth to it this time? I know the rumour comes up every year.

Away to Mayfield in the morning on the astro, should go ahead as it's on the astro in case anyone is looking for a game to go to. They played lovely stuff vs us a few weeks back, good young side. We've a few back now the GAA is over so first selection probs of the year thank god.

Was at ballincollig v corinthians also conditions were terrible , yes ref was terrible should have sent mark off even spoke to linesman pat who i presume told him what to do . 2 ballincollig lads complain and end up getting booked , one of them is later booked again and sent off . If the ref deals with mark correctly then its a different game completely , anyway we play corinthians in the final . Should be a good game not a lot between teams in my eyes so it down to who handles the occasion better.

Very harsh analysis of the game there el patron in my opinion. Yes game had a shakey start but to say all midleton had was a long ball from the back is totally wrong. Firstly its a cup semi final so first of all clearing their lines is key after about 20 minutes i thought midleton started to play a bit which lead up to a corner which resulted in first goal. Everton in my oponion matched midleton in a scrappy but well fought game with laurence in the midfield having a great game. Everton deserved 2 goals which they got but to say they deserved even more out of the game wouldnt be a fair comment i feel.emmet o hanlon is an old school baller who loves a battle which i thought was well put up to him on friday night but deserved a sending off? No way not in a million years he won every tackle well and fairly. On the other hand laurence only recieved a yellow card for mouthing to the referee after midletons second goal where before that he had been flying into tackles and in fact as a result of his poor tackle and illegal shoulder barge on anthony knowles he recieved the ball and set up evetons equaliser to bring the tie to extra time. Alll i can say is fairplay to midleton and good luck in final on friday week against cors..has potential to be a great fixture..

If this is the case who do guys think the 3 would be. Keep in mind age is a big thing here. I doubt he'll pick anyone close to 30 eg Marky and Hoey.

Maybe Conor Meade? Id say Caulfield knows him well enough from his avondale days as well as managing against Avondale. Great move as well by getting John Cotter in as part of the backroom staff. I've a sneaky feeling in a year or 2 Cork City will be back challenging for the league

With all due respect to the msl if cork city want to be competing for honours then the msl isn't the place to be looking. It would however be a cheap option for the club because the players will be getting hardly no money and be expected to travel all over the country. Any fella struggling to hold onto a job wouldn't be interested. Huge commitment.
