Probably not a fair result for Marys last night... Were well in the game up until about 20 minutes. 1st goal from a corner Marys really should of dealt with it but a mix up between keeper and player and some Dale player bundled it over the line. 2 minutes later and we found ourselves 2 behind, ball played back to the keeper and on a pitch like a car park he mis-hit his clearance and it fell nicely for chubbs. 2nd half we showed a lot of fight but gave away a penalty when the ball struck a defenders hand... Got 1 back with about 10 left but too little too late, We were never really outplayed but as you know you cant give a very good Avondale a 2 goal lead and expect to get something from the game. Hopefully we cut out the silly mistakes Sunday night and really make a game of it

Hall 0-1 Avondale

1 point away from the title now. Hat's off to the Dale lads, professional to the bitter end. A clean sweep of the trophies entered is coming up for sure I feel.

Good luck to all the teams involved in respective finals this weekend.

Must say hats off to the Avondale players and staff. To keep a team going at that level is fantastic. They should be playing LOI

so avondale have won keane cup donnie forde cup intermediate cup and only need a point to win the league, all is left is the muster senior cup and o connell, there still in them.they could win everything.they have to be one of the best msl team if not the best team ever in the msl.there going to clean up for years unless some club has the ba**s to do what avondale have done and get all the best players from other clubs

Commiserations to Marys but they have a far more important game on Wednesday.

No money changes hands but I think if the lads are out of work or anything they get set up in employment, which is far better then a couple of bob for playing every week.

Avondale 5-2 Midleton think it finished,Midleton were 1-0,and 2-1 up,but Avondale moved up another gear and went 4-2,chubbs (2),mark sull, knowles missed a pen for Midleton for his hatrick at 4-2,but Avondale got a 5th and put the game to bed,top drawer football again from Avondale at times,Midleton put together a few nice sets of plays, glimpses of early season play, and blooded 4 u-16's tonight with nothing at stake, but avondales class was always evident.another league title for Avondale secured tonight.

Tucked up in bed ready for the big one tomorrow evening. Let's hope it's a cracker and both teams get through it safely.

No matter what happens I'd like to place on record how much I've enjoyed the experience of the Prem league and would dearly love to be there again next season. It's a real eye opener as to how much more is needed from Div 1. We learnt as we went along and it'll stand us all in good stead for the future no matter where we play in 2013-14.

If anyone pops down to watch it come over and say hi, I'll be ****ting it, but come and say hi all the same. That's what it's all about at the end of the day, the football family.

if ever a team deserved a few weeks off its the Avondale lads, incredible run. It'll be mid-June at the earliest. 3 league games left and the O'Connell Cup semi, Munster Senior Cup final and the FAI Senior Cup game.

Best of luck to Clifford tonight, great having him on this forum, gives a great insight into the game with his refreshing honesty and endless energy.
Best of Luck also to Ken and his Marys team, may the best team win.

was down there tonight wasnt a bad first half. but i think both teams were afraid to lose it second half with marys being marginally the better side few offsides there were they were in but very eager. fermoy got a lovely goal bout 9 passes in the move. midleton next wednesday night for the playoff

Spot on six yard. Good open first half, og for them early on gave them a great start. We battled back well and scored an outstanding team goal with a load of passes and a ball slipped in to Wheeler who scored superbly over the advancing keeper.

Sec half both of us were reluctant to lose it. They has better first 25 we had better last 20, neither keeper tested though.

Next wed in Midleton for our third straight season ending play off. Ill take it.

Fermoy in another play off this season, last year winning a three team play off. This season fighting for survival. Is it time there were some rules put in place for these situations, or is there?? Should it go on goals scored or against!! I think myself the head to head is a good rule to enforce here.

Playoff is fairest way, imagine been relegated over a goal less scored! I fancy Fermoy to pull off the great escape, i'd imagine Mary's would have thought they'd have had enough to finish it off last night.

And a play off vs Leeds the season before. I think the lads do it deliberately by now. :-)

Thanks for all the well wishes lads. We are ready for it anyway and let's see what becomes of it. Nothing at all wrong with Mahon park for this game, lovely surface up there and great facilities.

Hope the weather stays fine and a few bodies come out to watch it. Hopefully both teams will be less nervous than last weeks game.

Castleview AFC are delighted to announce Patsy Freyne has taken the position of senior manager with the club. Patsy’s experience and knowledge of the game is second to none in the Munster Senior League and beyond. We wish outgoing manager Derek Daniels all the best in the future.

We are also pleased to announce Timmy Sheehan will be the junior manager for next season. Timmy was part of the management team that won the U19 double a couple of seasons ago.

We look forward to more announcements over the summer with the club looking to build on last season’s underage success. C’mon the ‘View!
