Rockmount were awful against a poor st marys side. Football in the northside is in a poor place at the moment which is sad to see. who on earth is gona challenge Avondale? ROCKMOUNT: Not in a million years. A handful of good players and the rest just tagging along for the ride. Hope Corinthians and UCC can go far this season. How come you were not on here when Mount were winning and the likes of Castleview and Temple were doing well. Thats an easy equation to come up with about Northside football. How can you decide between what side of the city is doing well when players cross over the river every weekend to play football. Silly remark really. What is your background. A hint will do.

Who tried to play football glenbuck??? Willy?? Hoofed the ball all night, Chrissy?? He had time to turn but put it out for a throw and that's where the equaliser came from, take off the blinkers now please. Standing there in the cold it's not hard to notice that the amount of times the ball was out of play was ridicu you see lous.A kind of anti Byrnes sentiment creeping in there. Listen what do you want Barcelona, Real Madrid or Ajax in the MSL. Its not going to happen. All I am saying is that BOTH teams put in a good effort the other night. Basically if you dont like what you see why keep coming back. What is your background by the way. Just to get some sort of spin on who we are trying to please.

hes spot on with his point about chris knocking it out for a throw. he head time to turn and plant it 40 yards down the pitch. we all know were not going to get total football. but at least an attempt at some football would be nice not just effort. i heard shouts of" put it in the corner" i mean seriously go join cork con if you want to do that. guy your having a pop off is buddies with buttsey so he was out there watching his buddy.

Sympathies to all at Douglas Hall. RIP

Big weekend ahead with 4 tasty games. Might see the table take a bit more shape by Sun lunch time. We've Everton coming to Carrig Park. Tough game for ourselves, great heart and never say die attitude from them last week after going behind twice, lets hope we can match them for the battle.

Let all enjoy their games and we'll discuss it I'm sure til the cows come home next week. Football eh, all about opinions. Love it.

Fermoy 0-3 Everton.
Bad day at the office for us. Good opening goal from their striker, scissors kick superbly struck gave them the lead after an even first half. That made us have to attack and we were pressing hard when they got the second on the break. Third came soon after and that was all she wrote. First goal crucial week in week out.

Good hard fair game, not a bad tackle in it. Well done to all concerned.

Think Cors and Mayfield drew 1-1.

I think that loss today more or less kills off Rockmount's title hopes .Another big 3 points for the dale since corinthians dropped another cheap 2 points to Mayfield .A win today for Fermoy would of pushed them above Rockmount and made them somewhat safe .

Everton pick up valuable 3 points which lifts them off the bottom and only for mayfield gaining that unlikely point today would of been out of the bottom 3 on goal difference

some big games coming up next week .The hall vs mayfield ,fermoy vs corinthians and marys vs midelton ucc vs avondale and the extra bit of spice with everton vs rockmount .Big week for the league table top and bottom

Ballincollig beat crofton 2-1

Nice win for Ballincollig's young team, and if you were there today like I was you will have noticed that their dugouts have been knocked down so as not to offer shelter to the night time party goers I was told when I enquired. they said not a can or a bottle was insight this morning when they arrived so for now they seem to have resolved one problem.

I see they are away to Leeside next week hopefully it'll be a good game.

Poor Game in Ballincollig today - both teams had an off day - For the majority of the game it was boys against men with the older croften team on top. Ballincollig battled well to come back from a goal down (soft pen ) and the difference between the teams was young Roche up top who scored the winner. Was Sharp all game and took his goal well. Not sure about his celebration tho - Good win but this young team may come up short in their promotion bid unless they can add a bit more quality and experience to this young squad ( can't doubt their effort and commitment thought )

Dale well worth the win yesterday. Could have been more. Serious group of players now assembled in Carrigaline. Goals came at a good time. Conor Meade and Graham McCarthy with well taken goals. Brendan maybe could have done better with the second one. No complaints really. I had one query alright after the game. Now this had nothing to do with outcome of game but how did Hoggy escape a yellow for the tackle on Chris Butt after 15 minutes and then Chris Byrne got a yellow for the tackle where he clearly won the ball in the second half. Avondale nutter might have a say as it was as near to you as it was to me. By the way our waterboy is gutted after being sent to the dressing room by the assistant. The young lad means well. A sense of humour is badly needed by the same official.

Does anyone know anybody who does specific goalkeeper coaching. We have a number of goalkeepers at the club now and Id like to put in place something a bit more structured. The person I was hoping to turn to unfortunately has moved to Waterford so I'm looking for someone to come up for a few sessions and put to gather a training program that all the goal keepers can subscribe to.

On another note took in Ballincollig Crofton game on saturday as we didnt play until Sunday. Thought Ballincolligs goalkeeper was fantastic . One to watch for the future for sure and we will have to be at our best to get the better of him next Saturday.

On the goalkeeping coaching you might try Mark McNulty cork City keeper for advice on that I know he is very approachable lad and he will point you in the right direction if he is not in a position to help you himself.

I also took in the Ballincollig / Crofton match last Saturday and agree the keeper was great he had a great game and brought off some great saves. He is however also you will agree very young and has a great future ahead of him I'd say alright. I also dont agree with peterpan that there will be extra bite between your team and Ballincollig I think it will be a good game next Saturday and I hope the lines behave. You will have seen how they had to remove their dugouts a pity in this day and age that clubs have to resort to such measures to keep their pitches clear and the players safe.

The good thing about the forum is that we can all vent a bit on here. Football is subjective. I can stand at the side of a pitch and come away with a completely different conclusion from a game to that of a person standing 2 foot away. Most on here have their loyalties and their opinions. On some occasions frustrations spill over and the comments are a bit harsh but if your going to dish it out you have to be prepared to take it back. In the odd case you might find that you have to eat a bit of humble pie but thats the risk you take coming on here.

Those "in the right frame of mind" can chose to attend any game they like midweek saturday or sunday and either witness glorious one touch tika taka or they will more than likely witness long established clubs playing to their strengths at any given occasion whilst holding their ground and fighting it out against the new comers like us or like in last weeks donnie Ford cup game two rivals rolling up the sleeves and getting the job done with one side doing a better job on the night than the other. We all have opinions and this forums as good a place as any to vent them and get them of your chest.

I've lived in Cork 10 years this month and I don't think Ive never lived in a place more competitive for sport than here. Derbies everywhere you look be it junior senior or down in West Cork were games can be brutal affairs. Ive seen few clubs and players unable to put any differences past them for the sake of football. Looking forward to having Ballincollig and their supporters down to little island for the game. 3 points up for grabs which is all the spice thats needed. The rest is long forgotten. A week can be long time in football.

Not really coro, because they finished top 4 last year without him... Its fair to say they are doing very poor this year but i dont think he could of made a difference because of where Marys are in the table, in my opinion they would need somebody that battles instead of a player that moans if things arent going his way. I actually think their centre back from last year is their biggest loss...

Haha , I think coros comment was meant to create a talking point & it worked . sure wasn't gareth only at marys for a year ? they didn't exactly set the league on fire with him either but they seem to have done ok since he left . altho they're in a real battle now I'm still not sure havin the same player in their side now would make a blind bit of difference to be honest.
