They are recognised as the oldest LEAGUE club to be established. Founded 1862 then were one of the founder members of the Football League in 1888.

This is correct. There was a time I knew the year. Founder members of the league in 1888. They go back to the 1860's anyhow. I remember their more famous days, FA Cup quarter finalists in 1991 and beaten 2-1 by Spurs. One Don O'Riordan (?) played for them. I know a bit about County having the softest of spots for their more illustrious neighbours who have now fallen on the hardest of times. Nottingham Forest.

Unlikely but possible. Of course football was introduced to Italy through the port of Genoa but I cant imagine too many players sported the replica kits of the time.

Newcastle, Besiktas................Dunfermline.

Tried to remember teams who play in black and white stripes.

You are correct, they used to wear pink because they were sponsored by a newspaper.

Sheffield FC were founded in 1857. Notts County 1862. Sheffield FC are still alive down in some regional league.

Harpsbear, Partizan Belgrade also play in black and white. Their nickname in Serbian which I cannot remember means funeral men or something.

And this is also why the Juve 'keeper wears pink, because of the original team colours

They still find it hard to wash the keeper's kit.

Cheer's Poor Student. I made it to Belgrade on my travels. Didn't get to see any games mind and I got a very eerie feeling in a country still struggling from the ravages of war.

Who did they play against until another club was founded ?

Sadly enough I actually know this one :o Hallam FC was formed in a district of Sheffield in 1860. As such I think that this is the oldest derby match in the world.

Read this in an article in Fourfourtwo a couple of years back. Ask me anything I learnt at Uni on the other hand...

Another team that plays in black and white stripes are St. Mirren. They actually played against Notts County for the official opening of the Noucamp stadium in Barcelona in 1922.
