I know a lot of people are only interested in British teams in the Champions league but anybody who bothered to watch Milan v PSV last night would have really enjoyed a great game. End to end stuff. Really impressed by the Dutch team. Von Bommel was excellent in the middle and the Korean guy up front (Park) played like Robbie Keane on speed. However Milan ended up 2-0 winners with a sucker punch in the last minute. Great game. Gus Hiddink class manager.

Great game alright,PSV were unlucky not to score, with a bit more composure in front of goal from Park, they should've nicked one. Can't see them going through now.Great atmosphere too.

Have to say really enjoyed the game too. Having watched PSV at Highbury in the first game of the competition, I thought they'd be lucky to get out of the group. They were overly defensive and didn't create anything. Fast forward a couple of months and the counter attacking display they produced last night was excellent. While for my own selfish reasons I hope Milan go through, I felt PSV did not deserve to lose 2-0 last night.
1-0 would have made a very interesting second leg but I feel Milan should be strong enough to hold onto a 2-0 lead (4-1 going away to Deportivo anyone!!! )
Have always liked Van Bommel and Cocu as players and thought they were both immence last night. Great spectacle for european football.

Have to say Gus is good for the game, fondly remembering World Cup 02 and the exploits of South Korea. Absolutely incredible stuff. Fell asleep during the game but woke for the last 10. Van Bommel had two great opportunities either of which should have tested the keeper. I love the Phillip's Stadium in Eindhoven as opposed to the very distant terracing as favoured in Italy. Should make for a passionate second leg.

Absolutely agree. He has got to be one of the most overrated players ever and yet he's played for many big clubs.
I really enjoyed the game, particularly the second half. AC Milan live on a tight defence and one class forward. PSV really moved the ball around well and if they had Shevchenko up front they would have won it easily.
Van Bommel was also excellent. Expect him to be signed by a bigger club soon.

PSV were excellent, pity they got hit with a late goal.
Milan looked far from resolute at the back and their passing was quite poor .
Seedorf was awful, he'd have been dragged too if Pirlo was fully fit.
But if you can win 2-0 while playing poorly, God help us all.
The talk on the streets is that Van Bommel is a done deal for Barca.

great game alright. PSV gave them a good game and rattled them often, the second leg will be a cracker and i can see PSV coming back, but maybe lose on away goals

Very enjoyable game, Milan looked very good but PSV could easily have nicked a goal. 2-0 is probably too much for them pull back though.

Used to think that myself until I saw him in the flesh 2 or 3 times including the Celtic v Milan games. Immaculate touch and fantastic vision.
After all, you don't win 3 Champions League winners medals for 3 different clubs without being a top drawer player.

Great game but this tie isn't over yet. I thought Milan were average and got two very soft goals. PSV were the better side in my view. An early PSV goal in Eindhoven and it's 'Remember Deportivo' time for Milan.

.
agree 100% here. Saw him twice in the flesh and his touch is fantastic. He never gave the ball away once either - simple passes all the time. I felt he was the best player on the park at Old Trafford in the first leg of Milan - Utd game - really controlles the tempo for them and a perfect compliment to the more hustle and bustle style of Gattuso .

I only saw the second half and was not at all impressed by Milan. With a bit more conviction in front of goal PSV could have scored a few times. Lampard would have had a hat-trick from 18 yards.

The first half wasn't much better. Long balls for ages at the start. Thought they'd never get stuck in. Seedorf and Stam were poor last night. Park did some great work for PSV

Agreed. Hes always very good for PSV. Foiuls a lot but somehow avoids bookings. Real tough competitor & bit like Robbie Savage with skill.
PSV wos robbed. I think they have good team but left down by few weak links. Van Bommel was very unlucky that all his shots when straight at Dida - really deserved more.
That yank Beasley who was subbed is useless anytime i've seen him.
For all their world class players Milan are very defensive when leading & should have cost them last night.

he's a headless chicken. dunno why they left Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink :D on the bench, I reckon he'd have done some damage. PSV very unlucky IMO- had a chance of going thru at 1-0, but can't see them coming back now. Hiddink really is an excellent coach
As for Seedorf- always been a big fan since he was at Real. classy player

I'm amazed Real Madrid haven't signed him to sell more replica jerseys with his name on them :D
