There were rumours of the shed being opened for the monaghan game but not only was it closed there seemed to be no progress in repairing it. It looked the same as ever. Will it be open for the Kilkenny game or when will it be open?

From the meeting with the club, the club stated they are actively looking to re-open the shed. We will put this on the agenda for the next meeting again in May (if the shed hasnt opened by then). It's probably a case of alot going on and not enough people to help do it. We will ask what needs to be done and maybe suggest that the trust get involved to help out in it's reopening. If you've any ideas of how supporter's can help then let us know.
Alot of rumours about alot of things circle the town constantly. We hope the trust will become the focal point for solid answers so people arent misled by rumours.

Gary, if you could find out prior to the meeting what exactly is required in opening the shed? I would guess that through this forum, you would be able to get an indication of who would help out in terms of volunteers, etc. I can not understand what all the fuss is about. If the shed was closed in order to get a licience, then, there must be a piece of paper somewhere giving the reason it needed to be closed.
It's obvious that there is a major structural crack in the back wall. Is it a matter of knocking that wall and building a new one?
It must be close on 2 years closed now. FFS the new road has been built in that period!!!! The time for excuses has passed, decisions and actions are needed now, not at the end of the season.
The Showgrounds is a morgue. The team needs the Shed in full voice.

Did the MC member who didnt want it open give a reason ? The trust will continue to run with this matter until a successful conclusion is met. We meet the club in early May so we will report back then with findings.

The ChAIRMAN of the Showgrounds Development Committee said a few weeks back that the shed would be reopening for the Monaghan game after some minor work was carried out. Obviousily this didn't happen. Why??
Is it just a coincidence that the shed was closed in and around the time that DOR was getting a bad time from the shedheads? I do know that there are members of the committee that don't want the shed to be reopened as they feel it attracts 'a bad element' type supporter, I must add that there are only a few but they obviousily hold the key. The only means that will make them act is by supporters getting a petition organised and when enough supporters sign it saying that unless the shed is open then we pull our financial support. A bit drastic I know but it will take something like that to make these guys sit up and take notice. I'm also sure that the players will sign such a petition as they will benifit from the shed roar as much as anyone.

Is there any chance of a petition being organised for the next home game. Because it will be the middle of the season by the time the board decide to act. How about where the programs are sold?

A petition of that nature would need to be arranged outside the ground. I don't think the committee would have it any other way.

Great Job Darco, just signed it. This should be put in it's own thread cos it's important for everyone to see.
