Last night Ramblers Youths won the Jackie Lennox League Cup with a 2-0 victory over Rockmount at Turners Cross. Ramblers dominated this game from the start with the front trio of Michael O'Shea, Sean Daly and Ian Stack causing huge problems for the Rockmount rearguard. Possession and chances were not converted into goals and at half time the sides went in level. The second half was more of the same with Ramblers playing excellent football but not converting the chances. The breakthrough came in the last 10 minutes when Pat Burns scored from 12 yrds after good approach play from Michael O'Shea and 5 minutes later Kyle Downing played a great through ball to Sean Daly who finished well. At the end of the game skipper Eddie Nolan accepted the Cup on behalf of the team.

This was a great performance from an nearly all local side for whom six of the winning team are eligible for youths football again next season. Well done to John Coughlan and his assistants Liam Amphlett and Eddie Ellard.

It was very encouraging to see the senior management team of Stephen Henderson and Stephen Neiland take such a hands on interest in this game with Hendo giving the team a very inspirational team talk at half time. It was great to see so many 1st team players in the winning dressing room after the game to congratulate the players. It shows that the clubs are progressing in the right manner. :ball: :) ;)

Good to hear that Eddie, nice to hear Hendo and the players taking an interest. It's always good to hear pep talks from senior players before games like that.

We always used to like getting wound up from the likes of yourself years ago ;) :D
