I almost never touch any alcohol. My addiction is Coca-Cola, 4 liters a day is the average :( But no alcohol, no smoking. Except for the Coca-cola I'm completely non-hedonistic, so as it being my only unhealthy habit I kinda close my eyes on the coca-cola abuse...

Christ almighty Gerrit if that figure is real and not a joke you need to stop. Drop a coin in it and watch the dirt corrode. That's your organs. :p

It is real, sadly enough. It's an addiction going back for many years.
But as I said, almost never alcohol, never touched a cigarette or any sort of drugs, ... Except for the Coca-Cola I live a healthy life.
I'm vegetarian as well for 17 years now, but that cannot be seen as unhealthy, proven long time ago that you can be just as healthy without meat. And I do eat the vast majority of vegetables, plus meat replacers such as tofu/quorn/soja. Indian food is the best for veggies, the way they're creatives with spices is just incredibly !

Gerrit I am pretty much the same as you. Well except I am a big time carnivore :p I don't drink or smoke but I used to take at least a litre of the black stuff a day. Actually it's a really odd thing when I'm out people won't let me buy a drink for them as I only drink coke and insist on buying for me. But anyway, my gf's father had a heart attack and they read up a lot on healthy eating and that and they forced me off coke. The amount of sugar in it is horrendus. 4 litres is a desperate amount. It could make you a diabetic. I'd cut that wayyyyyyyyy back. And it will be hard as it is highly addictive with both sugar and caffeine.

  Gerrit, you'd probably be better off drinking alcohol (safe limits) rather than that amount of coke, Jesus, that's ****ing shocking, excuse my French...
My only downfall is crisps, Tayto crips( God how I miss them being over here) I don't drink too much alcohol and not too often. Special occasions, yes :D , don't really like chocolate that much, don't smoke ( I hate it with a passion)

Have you seen the film SuperSizeMe ?? Did you see the size of those buckets of Coke .... and you are drinking more than that a day ?? .... ahh .... can you fĂșcking stop right now please .... i am the fĂșcker that has to pay your hospital bill through the nose on tax !!
Read a book years back about the Cola Wars .... very good read, gives a good idea of how far those companies will go to sell their product and just how much they actually care for your well-being and how you are valued as a customer !!

Hmmm... Fair play that you are concerned about my health, but be consequent then and also campaign against smoking, their hospital bill comes from your taxes as well. My uncle is a heart and lungs surgeon, and he says if you'd ever see a human lung after years of smoking you would never want to touch a cigarette again. And my addiction may be very bad for the teeth, but I still think it ain't as bad as years of smoking or drinking...
I guess we all have our bad habits when it comes to health.
I am the only one at work that doesn't drink alcohol, which sometimes gets me weird looks when going out with them... I do enjoy a glass of Baileys, but only on very rare occasions, and maximum 1 glass per evening. Beer is not really my thing, despite coming from a beer country and living in another beer country...
As for my vegetarianism: I was ill exactly 2 times in almost 4 years, so I can't be that unhealthy :) I don't feel like I lack anything because of not eating meat, if you hear how animals are put full of hormones in some cases I even think a decent vegetarian eating habit (I try to have as much variation in vegetables as possible) is healthier than eating meat. But then the truth will be somewhere in the middle I guess, as my friends counter me by bringing on the sprays used on vegetables to keep bugs away...

 I am rated as Mother Teresa
"Pathetic efford ! My grandma parties harder than you do !" :(
and that was with lies included... When asked what you drink when going out there was no non-alcoholic option, and I told I drank 1 glass usually while I normally do not drink a single one with alcohol... So you can guess what a party loser I am if I'd have been able to tell the full truth.

 It's a horrible habit. The stale smell of smoke on your/someone's clothes hair  Never mind the health aspect. Seeing old relatives when I was young, having to hug and kiss them, scared the sh!t out of me, yellow, smelly mouth, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I promised myself at age 7 I would never smoke after seeing that and realising what caused it.

I know what you mean KT and your'e obviously so right. I blame Brian Kerr. I was off the fags from May 2000 and a bunch of mates came to house to watch that Switzerland game (0-2), I got so ****ed off at the game I asked for a fag in desperation. Within minutes of the game ending, I'd called over to the shop across the road and bought 20. Yeh, the smell on clothes is awful. I have loads of incence I get from a shop (Sunshinejoy.com) in New Jersey or in Amnesty (Galway) which obscures the odour and I plan to give the fags in June - after the Israel game. :o

Read Cancer Ward by Solzehnitsyn and for the record I gave up alcohol in 1990 when I had a problem with excessive stomach acid. Never went back on it. Have had heart problems since 3 attacks in 2 hours in December 2002. So stayed off the hooch cause of tablets etc.

Jesus   Despite your seniority over us you're still quite young CTID. Was this due to some defect or is there some advice you can give us whippersnappers to avoid such problems? :(

Jeez, CollegeTillIDie, you've had it tough for such a young man. I hope you're aok now, truly. Had more than my fair share of hospitals (with more to come) since 2000 but you've really had it tough.
I know smoking is idiotic - I'm an idiot to smoke but I really do enjoy it. Do intend to give it up, but after the Israel game.
Stay well, man. :)
