Whats happening with the pitch?

Sounds like the height of stupidity to dig up your pitch when don't have the funds to finish it?

It is being done.. just taking a bit longer than first expected. Heard rumours we are having to sell our training pitch - Hiney Park - to property developers to get some funds... :(

Still doesn't answer the question why any club would dig up their pitch without the funds to replace it.

AFAIK the funds for the pitch was a government grant so it didn't come out of the clubs coffers.

Dundalk dont have any money these days, even to plan for the pitch to be taken up. :o :o

I heard that Hiney has not been sold yet? So we are going to spend more time away from Oriel!

I'm still to be convinced that this is a good idea. Sure it'll save a lot of € on pitch maintenance, but some of whatever will be saved is probably already being ****ed away on rent to Drogheda. Then when the inevitable happens that UEFA dont fancy this plastic pitch idea any more. Its going to cost huge money to re-lay a new pitch. And while it takes time to grow and sew/set, yep you guessed it, more money to Drogheda for rent
