Foot.ie been getting a good few mentions in the press in the last year. Wonder if it boosts registrations... is there any question asking where heard of foot.ie when joining...?

In fairness, yer wan Mary Hannigan is only too happy to put Irish stuff in her column - that's the third item I've sent in the past couple of years (including an entire fanzine for review!) and she's always been happy to give the league a mention.

I would be involved in computers and the League and to be honest I only stumbled across foot.ie. I always just thought it was the Unofficial Cork City Message Board. I was worng. Its the Sligo/Cork one :) hehe awh I think word of mouth is the more popular method of signing up here!!

Cant agree with ya there. I think we have moved on from the times when you were defined politically by the paper you purchased.

The Irish Times is a good read and I never miss the Sunday Times even if I only get to read parts thereof. Just about everything contained imaginable. Travel, books, music and review. Thats what I generally go for with obviously the news sections. There is however a wild lot of wastage and as for the ad on the TV with the guy who takes parts of every paper you know its not as stupid as it looks. Mind i have a longer walk to the newsagents in my slippers these sunday's. Blaming the ad wasn't quite good enough an excuse.

The Irish Times is a good read and I never miss the Sunday Times even if I only get to read parts thereof. Just about everything contained imaginable. Travel, books, music and review. Just a suggestion but can you not pile all the supplements in 5 rows with the paper they pertain too behind. People can take the sections they then want and cuts down on the waste which I know is unreal even from my one purchase. This might be demanding on the space for display.

Either was Brendan they are going in the bin (recycling at best), secondly yes the demand on space would be too much and finally people cannot be trusted. There are many magazines stolen from the papers every week especially if there is a free CD in spite of the fact you are already getting the thing for only a bloody euro.

On the matter of wastage often 100 Heralds could go into the thrash at night and a good 30 Irish Independents.

There is no Sunday version of the Irish Times, there is an Irish version of the Sunday Times which is the Sunday version of the London Times. The Sunday Tribune is the closest thing to a Sunday version of the Irish Times I think.

I used to send her in chants for 'Chants of the Week' if they're funny she'll put them in - better than just copying her whole column from the Guardian!

In fact in 1999 - Man United beat Bayern Munich in the CL final - they also beat them into 2nd place in the Chant of the Season - but were beaten by
"You'll Never Walk in Athlone" for the biggest European prize going! :D

Can see where that might come from, but I can assure you it's not true - she's been seen at many hockey colours matches (UCD v. Trinity) for a start and is the regular Irish Times hockey correspondent.

It's EL coverage is pathetic to me that makes it a rag! :mad:
There was an article in the English Times on Monday about Nick Leeson being appointed the Galway United commercial manager. Which meant there were more column inches about the el in the English Times on Monday than in the Irish one.
