Time to start this thread in order to get the last game out of my head. It seems the team never needs motivation when we play rovers, but lets not forget rovers beat derry last week, who up to then had the best defence in the division.
We really need to take all three points here, Remember they beet us in our first away game last season in inchicore.
It would be a good game to launch our away kit, oh but that clashes with rovers too
I think rico may change his starting eleven for this game as he needs to try and create more chances for the forwards. In fairness Mick Devine has had very little to do all season. ( i missed ports away)

Im not going on this away trip ( a wedding to go to)but ive a feeling its going to be a great encounter.Hoops fans will come to this game as they beat Derry last week.Dalymount makes for a good athmosphere.I hope Joe Gamble gets a start .God knows he deserves too .ROll on citys good record away from home.3 point would do very niceily.

wont be there either (got a wedding too ) ;) was looking forward to this but we need to up our performance and hopefully their will be the same atmosphere as the bohs game
really looking forward to this one. we should win it, but given our respective results this weekend, it could be a tricky one.
I think team will stay the same except for maybe O'Flynn in for Behan as have won all our league away games so far.
(changed thread title too)
i think gamble and flynnie shud be back,
my team would be:
devine
hoggie murray benno danny
doyler colin gamble liamo
georgie and flynnie
i think we need gambles drive in the middle and we havent been settin the world on fire up front so id go back to wat u know wud work--i think we all know george and john is our best attackin pair, i think doyler wud be move influenctial in midfield as he hasnt been gettin the service up front,
i think dan murrays return to form could the added pressure of big derek returning fit eventually

I'd go with
Devine
Hoggy Benno Murray Murphy
Colin Gamble Georgie Kearney
Doyler FlynnyAgreed. Doyler should get plenty of ball from Colin's will to win everything, and Gamble would have two excellent target men to play forward balls to. Georgie would bring more composure to midfield, and keep the ball on the deck. I hope they don't give that rat in charge of Rovers anything to snigger about. Would LOVE to see City hockey that team.

any decent chants for the rovers game...how about
To the tune of 'Rotterdam' and sung by Shelbourne fans...
'This could be Dalymount ,
Or Tolka, anywhere at all,
Cause Shamrock Rovers have no home,
Have no home at all.'
or
To the tune of the 'Addams Family'...
'Your sister is your mother,
Your father is your brother,
You're shagging one another,
The (insert team) fam-i-ly - de, de, de, de, dum, dum.

I've posted the 400 Club press release about Friday's game on the Rovers forum on here. It'll give you an idea about what to expect. I didn't post it here as it's quite long. See you on Friday.

It is a pity that we won't have a hugh crowd as rovers are really pushing this game to get a large attendance.
Does anyone know the date of the 'home' game Rovers played in Turner's Cross a few years ago?

According to eleven-a-side.com, it was September 27, but I thought it was during the summer

FFS .... Who was it with and was he thinking at all ??
I actually dont mind getting stuck in during the game but with minutes to go at 1:3 ... that is stupid

Cathal O'Connor was sent off too, so I presume he was fighting with him. Said on official website that a scuffle broke out
Excellent performance by some players.
Dan Murray and Benno were excellent,
Kearney, Hoggie, Colin, Devine, solid as ever,
Doyler - different class
Georgie - 2 goals and had good game,
Danny - disappointed with him, your man had a go at him alright, but should have ignored him, played well otherwise
Behan - made his presence felt and kept 2 defenders busy most of the night, made some good tackles
Billy - shocking except for the last 15 minutes or so when he had the experience to keep the ball away from our goal as much as possible
Roy - looked sharpenough when he came on, surely deserves a chance instead of Billy....
And to the fat Rovers scumbag moron who was allowed get away with the sh*t he did, and nothing done about it, CITY were winning/won the game, not Rovers. Can some other Rovers fans explain that to him?....:p
